Does anyone else wonder what the medical conditions are that prevent them doing trials?

If I was then I’d be asking what it was to see if I could then work out what the trial was.

I suspect some of it is not medical conditions, more there is certain things they won’t do, so is written into their contracts. So for example, heights, or buried under ground, or spiders etc.

To go back to the letters from home... I know I'm an old cynic but I always suspect part of the reason they cry with joy is because there is some kind of code in the letters, that let them know that they haven't made any kind of massive fuck up and are popular with the public!! I'm sure their loved ones have pre-agreed to include a certain sentence if they're being portrayed badly, or some sort of terrible news story has been published about them. I think many of the tears are those of relief!

Giovanna and Tom have been together since their teens, so it probably is the longest she's ever gone without speaking to him in twenty years or so.

Do we know if they're hanging around until the final? They'll be having more fun in the hotel then the camp if so!

I noticed on Toms insta he seems to still be at home, and not waiting in wales somewhere, not sure when they get to see their family?

I know in Australia at this point all the family are waiting at the hotel i think?

Yes, has Beverly done any? I always wonder if the producers can turn people down for the show if they can't actually do any trials or would that be discrimination?

I do think the poster who said maybe Russell couldn't do the head in a box trial due to having his tongue insured might have been onto something for his reason for being exempt.

I'm pretty sure Russell was exempt from that one as he's had brain surgery when he had brain tumours not just because his tongue is insured!

Bev has done a Bush tucker trial. She had the rotten tofu and fruit.

Watched Daily Drop and Hollie was in it. She said she spent the night at a hotel. But I’m guessing she’s back home now? She said she hadn’t seen her boyfriend for 3 months because he’s in Swansea and she’s in Loughborough. So I’m guessing the restrictions and IACGMOOH.

Just read on Curtis' instgram (aj's brother) that their nana has died. And that on pre agreement before he went in, they aren't informing AJ until he comes out.

So sad. Im guessing its not something they through in in the interview with ant and dec and that they do it off camera...

That is sad poor AJ. That must mean they maybe knew she was ill before he went in and so he just agreed to go ahead with it knowing he wouldn’t be told if anything happened? Otherwise you’d think they’d tell him off camera and give him the decision whether to carry on

That doesn't make their emotions invalid. I chose to go through invasive spinal operations a few years ago, knowing exactly what was involved and what could go wrong, but that didn't invalidate my tears when the pain got too much or when I was alone in the hospital in the middle of the night wondering why the hell I signed up to it in the first place.

Agree with this. Now half of Britain know before him. I think that's awful. I'd feel even more hurt if I was AJ.

I get emotions can run high in these type of shows. But the treats or letters from home can be quite annoying. Let’s be realistic, they all volunteered to be there. It’s only for 3 weeks maximum. And they all get paid lots of money, that would buy most people a house. And normally they are put up in five star hotels in Australia..obviously not this year! Many ‘normal’ people do jobs that involve being away from home and families. They don’t get paid the massive cheques either!

Maybe not buy a house for most of them, although would certainly be a good deposit. But some of them are "only" getting paid £50,000. Even Moe who was paid the highest is "only" getting £300,000.

Of course that's still a fortune to most people, but bear in mind that up to 45% of that will go on tax, and putting it in context, even Shane earned half a million for the same amount of days doing the Dax advert, and Noel flipping Edmunds was paid £600,000 when he did it a few years ago.

Also, ITV apparently paid 10 previous contestants £50k each to spend two weeks in quarantine in North Wales just in case any of the others came down with covid, to have them as a backup!
