You’re right, I shouldn’t try to excuse Brendan’s behaviour when so many of the other top Pros manage to be perfectly nice.

I love that Ian and Zoe are still friends. I remember her mentioning that he used to come to hers for dinner and listen to show tunes with Norman - ruining Fat Boy’s street cred in one fell swoop 😂😂😂

To be fair Linda Bellingham hated Darren. I don’t think he was mean to her, he just worked her ruthlessly hard and she didn’t have any fun. She was bitterly jealous of other older ladies who’d got the Anton Du Beke Experience.

That’s just reminded me of Fern and Artem - I think she made a similar complaint, along the lines of him being very ‘Russian’ [i.e. strict and non-fluffy] in his teaching methods.

Kristina's speech is a bit hard to understand than previously. I can't tell if her accent's returned (though she's been in the UK with Ben Cohen) or she's had too much botox/filler

The only clearcut case of a pro loathing their celeb, IMO, was Aliona with Gregg Wallace, and I couldn't blame her for that.

Remember (a hundred years ago) Brendan and Sarah Manners? I always got the impression that they properly hated each other and I’m sure he made her cry once.

In fact, I think he had a bad relationship with Lulu and Anastasia too...!

Brendan didn’t get on with Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child. I thought that he thought that she would be sassy and confident. However, she was actually shy and reserved. They didn’t get on

Jamie doesn’t know when to stop talking. I was coming round to the idea that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, but his inability to shut up and the constant earnest assurances that it’s all down to Karen - no honestly, it really is - are starting to grate.

We'd be quicker saying who Brenda got on with - Spangles Kerplunsky, Saint Soph, Jo Wood and Kelly Brook.
I liked many of his routines - in fairness, he made an effort with his ballroom more than Tony Beak and his Latin. I loved some of his routines with Sunetra and it annoyed me that he was mad at her lack of training time when she was on Casualty at the same time.
But I do wonder whether those good on paper - Kirsty G and Vicky P - would have fared better with someone else.
I do remember him going ''I want this one'' about Helen George on a VT pre-pairing and thought, you sound like a dick.
But the producers did take the mick with the Lulu pairing and height mismatch and he took a lot of crap on camera, both on the pairing show and It takes two - Clash of the egos, it was.

And iirc the other time it was used was with James and Alex and an actual rag doll prop
So Clara should surpass those at any rate.

Still, it prompted one of the best ever ITT events: ‘bottom two goddess’ Jamelia calling out the producers for redoing the audience reaction takes in the dance off to make him seem more popular than he was, and Tristan’s ‘Oh shit!’ face as she did it. EPIC! 🙌🙌🙌

Based on music alone, Clara, Maisie (traditional if not to my taste) Ranvir and Jamie have good picks.

I wasn't keen on the butchering of Blondie last time (and I love Kev) so that will be interesting. Hated Kellie's theme.

Rescue I am sure will look pretty and tick the right boxes but is my least favourite.

Yes JJ had jive and Jamie has tango but JJ has avoided a cha cha, salsa and samba and Jamie waltz, viennese, quickstep.
Nobody appears to be wanting to do a rumba at all this year!

Thank goodness for that ! Nobody liked dancing it really. It is very hard and technical.
