They always have beds? There's normally one or two hammocks then "beds" which are basically canvas stretched over a frame in Australia as well.

Yep and not everyone has one. Some of them are sleeping on the floor.

MaggieFS · 19/11/2020 23:03

Good reminder, thank you, I'd forgotten about the camp beds down under. These look far too luxurious though IMHO.

kamala4prez · 19/11/2020 23:06

I wonder if they are going too fast this season
we have already had camp spies and new arrivals seems like they are trying to fit everything into first week I hope there are some surprises left?

ILoveYou3000 · 19/11/2020 23:06

Ruthie was complaining about how hard they are and how she didn't sleep well, so not too comfy.

MargotLovedTom1 · 19/11/2020 23:13

When I look at Ruthie all I see is Erin Boag, ex-Strictly. I would stake my house on Hollie being first boot.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/11/2020 23:37

Not sure with the whole Jordan thing now. He seems a nice bloke but they are starting to treat him like a kid in many ways. Isn't he about 30?!

He is 30. AJ and Hollie are both 26, and Jess is 28.

megletthesecond · 19/11/2020 23:39

IIRC Mo used to spend months away from his kids while training in the USA. He'll be used to it.

JaJaDingDong · 20/11/2020 00:18

Place mark 😀

StinkySaurus · 20/11/2020 06:16

I’m a bit confused about timings of the show. At 10pm the camp mate doing the trail is announced. Any and dec say we’ll see you there in a bit. So does the celeb do the trail at around 11pm
And then they eat their meal with the stars at midnight!?! Just don’t understand the logistics!

the80sweregreat · 20/11/2020 06:43

I suppose doing the trial at night is so they can edit it and get it ready for broadcast during the next day. If it was all done during the day it might take up take up too much time to film and be ready by 9? Especially if the trial is a long one. I imagine editing must take a bit of time ?
I've no idea really , but there must be a reason it's this way around and works for them.

I wonder where A and D are staying? Do the film crew stay in the castle?
Hotels are now open in wales I think ?

Standrewsschool · 20/11/2020 07:19

Watched the show but iPad was flat so couldn’t comment last night.

Thought Russell and Ruthie did well on their secret tasks last night (do I see a stage show/tv show in the future?).

I thought AJ always seemed a bit self-centred on Strictly - the dances were always about him, at least in the beginning.

Victoria definantly loves her hugs with Shane.

Bev looks perpetually scared.

showmethegin · 20/11/2020 07:30

@StinkySaurus apparently they were told to adjust to sleeping 3am-11am, I think they eat dinner at 1am!

Fizbosshoes · 20/11/2020 07:30

I thought the whole family lived in the US but I expected he was used to being away for training and events.
I remember in a previous year a contestant got v upset because they had missed their young child birthday. I was slightly Hmm because obviously you would know the potential dates when you signed up for it.

StinkySaurus · 20/11/2020 07:43

@showmethegin thank you!

woodhill · 20/11/2020 08:17

It was nice to see them outside yesterday

callmeadoctor · 20/11/2020 08:32

Why is Liz playing the constantly scared/needs to be looked after card? She's 62 and used to be a fitness instructor, she's hardly a doddly pensioner?

callmeadoctor · 20/11/2020 08:33

63, sorry!

Clawdy · 20/11/2020 08:38

Checking into new thread...

BigSandyBalls2015 · 20/11/2020 08:41

Who is Liz?

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/11/2020 08:48

Beverley.
She's Liz from Corrie.

callmeadoctor · 20/11/2020 08:58

Sorry LiZ is Beverley Callard!

Fizbosshoes · 20/11/2020 08:59

I thought she said a few days ago she still taught 3 classes a week! I always think she looks a bit baffled like she doesnt understand what's going on!

ChoccyJules · 20/11/2020 09:28

I’m not sure about Vernon, he’s clearly a natural leader but he seems to expect to play that role, needs a bit of a rival to shake him up a bit.

I agree that the stuff from home was far too early.

The jester sounded like he was trying to cover up a Scouse accent to me, but I could just be unaccustomed to a North Walian accent?

The trials are too easy because they are getting too many stars. Need a few rumbly tums!!

callmeadoctor · 20/11/2020 09:29

62/63 is not exactly old is it? On the R and R trial, the first thing that Bev said to Ant and Dec was "Im scared!" She had no idea what was going to happen (and indeed didn't have to do the trial anyway as R and R did it!)
