Agree deep fat fryer most shocking TV moment ever - I fell off the sofa.
Did anyone watch the second half on BB3 straight after?

Pannacotta · 19/10/2007 10:50

I missed the deep fat fryer thing as only found Spooks last year. What heppened? Surely they didnt SHOW a death by deep fat fryer on the Beeb??

florenceuk · 19/10/2007 10:59

no that was series one - might even have been one of the earliest episodes.

ShrinkingViolet · 19/10/2007 11:14

episode no 2 Series 1 - they didn't actually show anything (camera cut away at the last minute). Very OMG moment though.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 19/10/2007 11:15

Especially as is was Lisa Faulkner and you thought she would be in it for a while, being the most well-known person in the cast at the time.

Mij · 19/10/2007 11:17

But ShrinkingViolet, the most memorable TV moments are the ones your imagination completes for you. Like Miss Haversham going up in smoke when I watched Great Expectations as a little'un.

Marvellous editing. Perfectly put together episode, in fact. Set up who audience think will be a major character then fry them...

Sunshinecursedmummy · 19/10/2007 11:18

Yes it got me hooked.

ShrinkingViolet · 19/10/2007 11:29

and then the bomb right at the very end of series 1 going to blank screen with no credits - i ran through to DH gibbering "but they can't do that, they can't do that!"

Mij · 19/10/2007 11:43

Blimey yes, I'd forgotten that. I seem to remember sitting on the edge of the sofa yelling 'nooooo! You can't DO that to me.'

julesrose · 19/10/2007 12:34

according to sources Rupert is extremely proud of his lovely bottom....

ChipButty · 19/10/2007 13:30

Can you name your sources, Julesrose? I agree, though, he should be immensely proud. Dervla Kirwan is one lucky woman!! ( ) )

PatsyCline · 19/10/2007 13:48

Sorry, Chipbutty but in response to that I can't resist posting ))(( for anyone who has seen the film "You, Me and Everyone We Know."

I missed Rupert's bum because I was making hot chocolate for DH - curses.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 19/10/2007 15:40

Oh yes the bomb - that was horrific wasn't it? They're very keen on killing people off.

ChipButty · 19/10/2007 16:29

PatsyCline - if you are stil keen to see the aforementioned posterior, there is a still of it on Rupertpenryjones dot com!

PatsyCline · 19/10/2007 17:31

Thank you very much, ChipButty. I have just seen Rupert's bottom on YouTube in its full glory (sorry a still wasn't enough).

My DH has a lovely bum - it's a shame that time will eventually take its toll and it will never have been captured forever in a BBC flagship series (now available on DVD from all major outlets).

ChipButty · 19/10/2007 22:02

x

ladyhelen2 · 23/10/2007 09:22

Sexy Rupert reading the bed time story on C Beebies this week - well he was last night. Not quite as excting as stopping global terrorist plots, I grant you. But a lovely surprise at the end of dreary Night Garden for all us mum's with toddlers!!

shrinkingsagpuss · 23/10/2007 16:26

oooh yes, it was a ovely surpirise to see him last night.... shame DH was here too.....

I too had nightmaresa bout the chip fryer incident... but have got over it now... i've never seen so many spies die so regularly... James Bond never had this trouble?!

shrinkingsagpuss · 23/10/2007 16:28

and.. i think Zaff is toast.... new agents needed for new series so they have to kill off at least one of the old ones....

specialmagiclady · 23/10/2007 22:36

Lady Helen, I BLUSHED when he said "my name's Rupert, and if you want some pumpkin soup and a bedtime story with me, keep watching Cbeebies".

Cos I really would like that, actually.

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 23/10/2007 22:40

Have we discussed Jo's new haircut? Jury is out in the Lapin household... great bone structure, but a little TOO severe?

I am LOVING Bridget Jones' mum as the new member of the team!

edam · 23/10/2007 22:49

I had to giggle at the idea of this very nice a middle aged lady having a secret cavern under her house, just like a proper James Bond villain.

Bedtime story very entertaining for me. Ds unimpressed, though.

wheresmysuntan · 24/10/2007 11:30

To add further to the gossip, I read somewhere that the actor who plays Zaff is married to/with the actress who plays Jo.
I really liked Zaff's character but fear he is definitely dead.
Presumably,Gemma Jones' character will replace Ruth on an intellectual level.

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 24/10/2007 12:01

Yup, they are married!

shrinkingsagpuss · 24/10/2007 12:47

it soes look a little like she was attacked with a lawnmower! I cold wear my hair like that.....untli there is a hint of rain, then I'd look like the lead singer from "simply Red"... erm.. mick Hucknell.
