Will anyone be watching? I’m quite looking forward to it! Will be different with it not being in Australia this year. I haven’t heard anything about who is going in, has anyone?

Shane was just messing around and saying "left 30, happy place", etc. Jordan wasn't offended. It was all done in good humour.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 17/11/2020 15:57

I dont know Jordan at alll from the Radio etc but I do seem to have a soft spot for him already.

I totally get that they were all on a high and excited on arrival etc getting to know each other dealing with their new surroundings to then be thrown into a pit of snakes, hello, that would screw up anyones head going through all those emotions and then the task >>shudders

FlyingByTheSeatof · 17/11/2020 16:05

As for Giovanna she seems like a pleasant enough person and will probably be quite fun to watch.

I think though her and her hubby have enough £££ and exposure so I always prefer seeing interesting people who the show is more likely to give more of a chance to such as Emily Atak, John Barrowman and Scarlett Moffatt in previous years who just needed that little push for us to see how funny and brilliant they are to re kick start their careers.

MaggieFS · 17/11/2020 16:20

Phew. Finally caught up with the show and the thread. Hi everyone!

  • PLEASE can there be some more daylight!
  • agree it looks like a very fake set, but not sure if that matters
  • I think it's quite usual that even when they've won stars the food is pretty awful, it's just not rice and beans
  • daylight aside, I thinks it's translated well into the castle and the fundamental core elements are still there

I like Giovanna. I know of her from Baby Club. I'm generally not one to follow influencers and I'd say most aren't that talented. What they are good as it being confident about a (not necessarily original) idea, usually being quite good looking, and getting the idea out there. Then reality shows follow and so it spirals. I think Giovanna is the other way around i.e. has done a variety of things before moving into the Insta/Mummy space. Wasn't she a classically trained musician originally? If nothing else, as we learnt from that padlock & backpack challenge 7 million people download her podcast. Can't be that bad.

Do you really think John Barrowman needed his career kick starting?? He was the BIG star that year, wasn't he?
Standrewsschool · 17/11/2020 17:32

Don’t think John Barrowman needed to re-start his career. He I was already a successful actor, tv presenter and singer (and superb live).

AppleKatie · 17/11/2020 17:49

I’m the other way around, I would much rather see those who don’t need the exposure!

John Barrowman, Mo Farah etc...

Fizbosshoes · 17/11/2020 18:01

John Barrowman was fab-u-lous (accompanied by jazz hands!) We all really liked him. Kate Garraway, Harry Rednapp didnt need any extra publicity but they both came across really well.
In previous series I've noticed most of the older contestants made much less fuss and really got stuck into the trials (with the exception of Gillian McKeith!)

I not sure any of the female contestants will get the bikini shot this year!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/11/2020 18:06

I remember the old days.

Phil Tufnell and the chef and the designer.

Standrewsschool · 17/11/2020 18:33

The chef - Anthony WorrellThimpson with the sausage-gate incident.

Clawdy · 17/11/2020 18:39

I still remember the surreal moment Carol Thatcher was peeing on the grass while Jimmy Osmond was fast asleep a few feet away!

I8toys · 17/11/2020 19:05

I don't think Shane was being horrible to Jordan last night. It was bants between them. He was the calm steady one to Jordan's nightmare. They did a good job between them.

I agree. I actually think it helped release the tension.
Wtfdidwedo · 17/11/2020 19:25

I think some of the under 30s do just go in for the experience as they grew up with it on the tele, but maybe I'm just not cynical enough. The first series started when I was a teenager and I always said I'd have loved a go if I became famous enough, money or no money!

ScienceSensibility · 17/11/2020 19:49

Totally agree with unique that they focus too much on one or two of the campmates in the beginning, usually via the trials.

I am much more interested in general camp life, the interactions between them etc. The best times are when they are talking about their lives outside and you get a glimpse of the real person.

As I said earlier, no idea why Jordan has been selected as the focus for this year, but I don’t find him remotely interesting or entertaining, so could we hear from some of the others, please? AJ and Mo Farah for me.

musicinspring1 · 17/11/2020 20:24

I looked after my 1 year old for a bit before lockdown and I genuinely thought Giovanni was a well known CBeebies presenter because the couple of times I turned it on Baby club was on! But being a presenter doesn’t seem to get mentioned on her bio bit?

shesellsseashells99 · 17/11/2020 21:13

Has AJ said a single word yet?? I hope they focus on him a bit more.

shesellsseashells99 · 17/11/2020 21:15

I've heard of Giovanna but don't know much about her. I think she come across really well personally.

unique1986 · 17/11/2020 21:19

Boooo eating trial 😔

GandalfTheGoat · 17/11/2020 21:27

For the PP querying Giovanna's hand gesture last night, this is why she's doing it.

I'd want a little signal for my kids too. Especially when they are so young. Sure, it's annoying to watch, but if I was in there I would do similar.

Wtfdidwedo · 17/11/2020 21:29

Hollie is trying to launch a singing career, problem solved!

unique1986 · 17/11/2020 21:30

Wow that was boring. Kids tv.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/11/2020 21:30

When does the vote open? I'm watching a day behind so I can watch with the kids, but I still like to vote through the app when it opens.

the80sweregreat · 17/11/2020 21:31

It's Peter Andre doing crappy ads.
I Loved that last trial. I hate the eating ones coming up.
