I still can't tell who is telling the truth.
Ironically yesterday was the first time I warmed to Habbs and actually thought she sounded sincere.
Before now I always found her so vapid, and her drawl got on my nerves.
She seemed quite bemused and over it.

Emily was v aggressive- and I know talking about looks is mean, but what has she done to her forehead??
She looks like she is about to spout horns.

Love Sophie and the Lockes.

And call me soppy but Liv and Tristan seem to be genuinely into each other.
Zara, on the other hand, is the creepy ex. I've never liked Sam but I felt so bad for him- he looked utterly uncomfortable and couldn't leg it fast enough.
If Zara were a guy she would totally be the stalker ex BF that you desperately try to avoid.

Poorlykitten · 09/12/2020 22:55

Bored bored bored by Ollie and his boyfriend storyline. They are just so uninteresting, one of them needs to have an affair or admit to double parking...or something.

LaBodDelMed · 09/12/2020 23:20

I thought the Tiff, Sam, Sam’s Mum thing was v odd. Then wtf was Tiff doing setting up a Jeremy Kyle-style Sam and Zara meeting. It’s just all a bit too much, with her bring his ex too.
Agree Zara needs to back off. But then Sam needs to not shag her when she turns up on his door step. Quite frankly he just needs to be able to be single for more than 5 minutes. I think a lot of his issues (ha - armchair diagnostic coming right up!) stem from his total inability to function as a single adult. He always needs to be in a relationship - be that for adoration, validation, company, or whatever. It’s unhealthy.

MarshaBradyo · 09/12/2020 23:24

Ollie and Gareth are slightly irritating and dull but i always think Ollie isn’t as in to Gareth as the other way round. I think Ollie likes attention over anything else.

MarshaBradyo · 09/12/2020 23:26

Maeva’s haircut is great and Habbs is annoying

Sam’s doe eyed list boy act makes me too cross to feel sorry for him in any way. Especially dinner he’s done the same to others. He needs the ego boost of his ex.

bloodyhairy · 10/12/2020 00:57

@MarshaBradyo
That's totally the vibe I get from Ollie and Gareth. Gareth definitely comes across as the keener partner.

Emily's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

WineNotTheLabel · 10/12/2020 01:42

I believe Habbs, Harvey is conniving and exaggerating and lying to get out of trouble. He left Emily to nice them both in, went away for the weekend to check if he missed her,. He promised Emily he wouldn't have late night chats with Habbs and the did. He shat himself and made this all up to deflect his crap behaviour.

Go Paris. Verity channelling Maeve and telling Paris to leave was rude and spoilt. I wish Amelia would let Verity fight her own battles.

Tristan and Liv are meh. Once he is keen, she will dump him.

Zara and Sam won't work out. His ego won't allow it and he will cheat. I think his family think Zara is common. If Tiff had called Mummy like Zara did, she would have responded.

garlictwist · 10/12/2020 10:40

I am so happy to have found this thread.

MiC is my guilty pleasure. I don't tell anyone IRL that I watch it, apart from DH with whom I refer to it as "the searing postmodern documentary".

I am really enjoying this series. Love Liv, Mark Francis and Sophie Hermann. I kind of want to be Habbs Blush. At least aesthetically.

Cannot bear Freddie. He is almost too posh.

garlictwist · 10/12/2020 10:42

PS - and I love the Ollie and Gareth wedding scenes. I almost welled up at one point. probably too much wine

Yamayo · 10/12/2020 11:26

I really don't get the point of Freddie's moustache.
It just doesn't work with his long hair.
I think he is trying, and failing, to be the English Mark Francois.

Yamayo · 10/12/2020 11:27

Francis even Grin

AliceinBunniland · 10/12/2020 14:34

I just watched the most recent episode and I'm totally team Paris. For Verity and whatsername to say Paris was rude is not true from what I saw. Paris apologised to V and they barely let her speak. I didn't like either of them for that.

Not sure what to make of the Harvey and Habbs thing. I believed her version even from their talk later. Emily was unnecessarily unpleasant to Habbs.

I like Maeva.

mizu · 10/12/2020 16:54

garlic GrinI don't tell anyone either. I'm in an academic job and don't think anyone I work with would know what it was!

I did tell my sister last year (after years of watching) and she thinks it's hilarious me watching it. She jokes about it sometimes and gets it mixed up with The Only Way Is Essex - I tell her it is, in NO way, the same Grin

AliceinBunniland · 10/12/2020 17:00

I don't know why people are so judgmental about reality tv. I mean, why is it it more of a waste of time than watching a soap opera or a football game??

MarshaBradyo · 10/12/2020 17:02

Ah it’s fine I studied all about high / low culture at university probably under the guise of some French philosophers. Works for me Grin

I don’t do towie though, prefer the posh ones!

I have no shame but Dh watches it too - I might be more quiet about that Wink

slalomsuki · 10/12/2020 17:08

@mizu I"m another academic with a secret Made in Chelsea viewing habit. I managed to drop it in to a lecture a few years back when talking about celebrity endorsement. Got to show some clips in class.

Beebumble2 · 11/12/2020 12:50

Also my guilty watching. I’m no way in the age demographic, if there is one.
I started watching as, that area of London was my stamping ground way back when the lower Kings Road was considered the cheap end!
I like to see how the locations have changed.
It does frustrate me that they can be in Battersea and then Holland Park 10 mins late.

Yamayo · 11/12/2020 17:15

I remember getting very excited when I realised (about 10 seasons ago) that Jamie lived in my old street... Grin

SophieB100 · 12/12/2020 15:47

I'm a teacher, and I love it, yes it's my guilty pleasure.
Watched it from the start, loved the Caggie/Spenny years.

I liked the way Paris dismissed very annoying Verity.

OppsUpsSide · 12/12/2020 15:51

Did anyone see when Emily and Harvey had their meet up chat the waitress served Emily her teapot/cup/milk and Harvey his latte and he took Emily’s teaspoon before she’d even poured her tea and used it to stir his latte with never a word before depositing it back on her saucer! She looked but she didn’t say anything!
It’s been bugging me since I watched it.

That one act told her way more about him than the whole Habbs thing, wish she’d dump him.

SophieB100 · 12/12/2020 16:20

@OppsUpsSide
Yes, I noticed that! Mark Francis would have been appalled!

JudyGemstone · 12/12/2020 17:32

Ahh I would have loved to be in that lecture!

I have an important sounding professional job too, I can't talk to anyone I work with about MIC sadly! Have to make do with watching with my 13 year old. It has some good discussion points about interpersonal communications/attachment styles/boundaries etc.

TheLadyOfShallnott · 12/12/2020 22:45

Well what a surprise that Sameh is back with Zara. did they ever split up?

The whole mum tiff lunch thing was bizarre. And Tiff being besties with Zara. And the sex thing? Christ.

Christmas round the tommos is going to fun.

Harvey is a hole I fear. I drink my coffee black. If someone used my spoon to stir a milky brew there would be words.

Bet he would be in Habbs like the c19 vaccine if he got half the chance.

What a miserable snivelly hole he is for running back to Em.

The Em hair toss thing was arrogant at the Habbs meet. She looks about 45. Is she having anti-injectables?

And I think she will come to regret believing Harvey.

And Ctl alt delete habbs? Habbs will be proper glad she pressed escape...

Tristan isn’t much better. Verity is the same.

I think paris was snarky as. I’m not team anyone on that table but paris was as rude as the others. My face would have let her know that well before my tongue moved.

She shit stirred.

Entertaining for the purpose of the programme but still.

Really warming to Maeva now. I am fickle!

mrssunshinexxx · 13/12/2020 03:17

@TheLadyOfShallnott I bloody love Maeva .. Liv & Jamie and that's about it !
Oh and Sophie

kennypppppppp · 13/12/2020 12:17

gareth looks like liza minelli
zara is desperate to be famous and living in sw6 (where is sam's house? looks like round the back of wandsworth bridge road but an actual road name would be terrific??!!?!?)

i love mic and i call it michael (fyi) as someone earlier up was saying they call it a post modern urban documentary or something.
