I've seen it before but am watching again. 🙂

ValancyRedfern · 21/09/2020 22:10

Just caught the last 15 mins of this. Love it. Although it's not good for me as it makes me question my life choices...

Horsemad · 21/09/2020 22:25

I adore David Morrissey, full stop. I always watch him. 🙂

MabelFurball · 21/09/2020 22:26

I think he could lose that beard.

longwayoff · 21/09/2020 22:57

Is it just me? Found it so boring gave up at 9.45. Did anything interesting happen?

Horsemad · 21/09/2020 23:07

They got stranded due to rail strikes and ended up staying in a hotel together.

Panfriedscallops · 22/09/2020 00:07

Middle age man meets attractive much younger woman who shows an interest just as his wife becomes older and less in awe of his boring middle aged-ness ....yeah wonder who wrote that

CoolYourBeansMySon · 22/09/2020 00:15

I loved this when I watched it before, but that was before my exH had an affair with a younger woman! I caught the last half hour tonight and enjoyed it though, it's a great cast. But it's a little bit too close to home these days.

RAOK · 22/09/2020 00:21

I loved this!!

Yeah the age difference is getting to me too. Did she really have to be nearly 2 decades younger? A boring male fantasy in a more 'modern' form really.

I watched it a couple of years ago and I agree with this. I couldn't see the point of it at all, except perhaps to validate middle-aged men who want to shag younger women.
longwayoff · 22/09/2020 07:24

Yes. Not predictable at all then? All panned out exactly as foreseen in the first 20 minutes.

IcedPurple · 22/09/2020 07:53

Plus, it's annoying that his wife is supposed to be the same age as him - they met at university - yet Olivia Colman is 9 years younger than David Morrissey.

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 22/09/2020 09:49

I missed it first time round, enjoying it, glad second part is on tonight

Lilybet1980 · 22/09/2020 09:51

Was wondering when the next episode is.

I did enjoy it but it was a bit cringe!

Panfriedscallops · 22/09/2020 14:58

It's definitely a fantasy show for all middle aged men whose wife doesn't understand them. But a fit 26yr old woman would ... Funny that

dogsdinnerlady · 22/09/2020 20:37

I did smirk when she said 'You don't look old enough to have a 17 year old son'. How old would that have to be then?

unique1986 · 22/09/2020 20:56

Loved this when originally shown. I think Sheridan Smith was cast as at the time she was very upcoming and taking lead roles in many dramas.
This and Mrs Biggs is my fav drama of hers.
Doesnt she look different now...

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/09/2020 21:08

I enjoyed abs assumed would develop into an affair

Esp as he said he has never cheated

Medievalist · 23/09/2020 07:32

When he sees her at the end is that Ryan she's with or someone new?

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 23/09/2020 07:44

I wondered if it was Ryan but I couldn’t wind it back as I have only got a basic telly on holiday in caravan, it wasn’t very clear

Ludo19 · 23/09/2020 07:59

No it wasn't Ryan it was a new partner

Bouledeneige · 23/09/2020 08:20

I watched it the first time but lasted 5 minutes this time. I just find Sheridan Smith too hammy over acting. The drama lacks subtlety and nuance.

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 23/09/2020 09:01

Thanks Ludo

nitgel · 23/09/2020 17:11

I loved this first time but it is a bit cringey. David morrissey is bloody hot gorgeous tho.
