Two children, I think

AitchTwoOh · 04/10/2007 00:34

it's very weird for me as a lover of BLW to see this prone child being spoon fed... so different from dd, who was so much more involved. i have a question about cots, btw, should i start a new thread? will you all come and answer it?

Ahem, you mean supine, I think. [stern]

I can't bear seeing babies being fed lying down. Am furious to think this is being normalised by being shown on a parenting programme.

Can this programme possibly get any worse???

susiecutie · 04/10/2007 00:45

so I did mis hear.. sorry

I like the look of that sling though. I use a wilkinet sling.. i have a really really bad back problem and that sling looks like it might be better, the wilkinet was the best i could find and puts no strain at all on my back but dd is a bit bigger now and its a bit more noticble.. i wonder if that one would be better for those times i use a sling.

have any of you used one? do youn know if it is better on your back?

AitchTwoOh · 04/10/2007 00:48

someone on here was saying they'd used it, was it kiskidee? i've looked and can't find it. why don't you ask Clare Scott tomorrow, she's here at 1pm.

susiecutie · 04/10/2007 00:58

There is a link to it from the the link a few posts down. Its called a close baby sling.

if I can get on tomorrow at 1 I will... i'm interested to know if its good for my back... looks great for the babies! my Dd gets abit restless now in the sling tbh in she's facing me.

I went out with her the other day facing out, then she got sleepy so i faced her in.. then she woke up and started shoving her fingers up my nose and pulling my hair as the boredom set in.. then she got cranky and fidgety. So i've not done that again... i love having her in the sling though and being that close. trouble is i need to lean on the buggy quite alot just to get around at the moment. ( my secret zimmer frame dont tell anyone

AitchTwoOh · 04/10/2007 00:59

poor you. if you were in a tribe they'd leave you for the crocodiles to eat...

OP posts:
susiecutie · 04/10/2007 01:03

hehehe, the crocodiles would have trouble eating all the metal i have in my joints!

if you should be here tomorrow and see her about, would yo mind asking her the question in case i cant get on? i'd really appreciate it

BlueberryPancake · 04/10/2007 11:31

I can't believe it... 11 weeks ! Blod hel i can't believe it. When is someone going to stop that stupid woman? Check out the work that Health visitors and midwives will have to do to undo that stupid television show!. FGS arrest her or something.

Piffle · 04/10/2007 11:31

when you look at your own relationship with food as an adult you see it for so much more than simple stomach filling.
it is sensual, fulfilling, it leaves you content, you crave, indulge/deny/binge /starve

I think it is close to criminal to impose regimes on such young babies who are driven by instinct and need.

Food is not just about filling stomachs FFS

Piffle · 04/10/2007 11:34

And the big baby aspect is such horsehit

ds1 was 16lbs at 6weeks bw of 7lbs 8oz he bf round the clock, obviously because he needed to.

I know exactly why he needed to as he is 13 now and I can with hindsight say I know why.

He was stright onto my food at 7 mths, he was not ready before then....

Piffle · 04/10/2007 11:34

got to log off I'm about to go off on one

BandofMutantMonsters · 04/10/2007 11:36

Aitch are you allowed to spoil the show like this??

Just wondering if Channel 4 might be on here soon saying "OI Aitch, NO!!!"

AitchTwoOh · 04/10/2007 12:43

i'm sure they think it's drumming up more viewers...
