I did think a while back, that this would end up with a Eurpean / US- ish split.

Looks like it might end up that way.

Unless you've 'had' the virus, and are willing to take your chances, eh, Novak? Hug a few trees? Hmm I have never been a fan. I am definitely not a fan now Grin.

Btw good luck with the trip into the office Fizzy. I know exactly what you mean about forgetting how to be in outside society Grin this whole scenario has turned me into a recluse! My wordsearch skills have improved massively though Grin

Raahh sorry to hear about the trip into town, that doesn't sound much fun. Hope you're feeling better. I haven't braved public transport yet and used to use the train quite a bit for days out etc, I miss it.

Fizzywinegum · 04/08/2020 21:21

Oh no that’s really sad but not surprising Sad

I wonder if Djok will still play?

I think for now Italy haven’t seen the same sort of increases in cases as Spain Spidey but things can change Sad

JaneJeffer · 04/08/2020 22:36

Djok has been very quiet since his tournament!

Raahh · 05/08/2020 12:52

Oh, I have no doubt Djok will play, despite all his earlier complaints about the way it will be set up. It has worked out ok for him- he has had the virus, but was asymptomatic. Won't believe he needs a vaccine now (not that he would get one). His biggest threats are no longer playing. He probably believes he is untouchable now.

Just the sight of his face on the ATP site makes me cross. Grin.

Raonic looks like an overgrown toddler more than ever in this photo.

He also looks like he's eaten rather well during lockdown Grin

Fizzywinegum · 05/08/2020 22:44

I thought he had a bit of a corona tum kazza Grin - he looks a bit like wreck it Ralph!

JaneJeffer · 05/08/2020 23:32

Grin OMG TWINS!

Hope you got on ok today Fizzy

Grin Jane

The office wasn’t too bad thanks - we're going to be doing a 50/50 office/work from home split so not too bad. It did seem to take me ages to get out of the house though Hmm

Hope everyone is OK

magimedi · 06/08/2020 09:12

Waves to everyone! I'm back. We had a lovely time. Very anxious at first as the day before we left the littlest one had a high temp & possible ear infection & had to be tested for CV. So the first day's drive was worrying but as we left our overnight stop I got a call saying she was negative. When we got there they hadn't told the GC we were comking, because of the test. Two and a half year old was not quite sure who we were but 5 year old came rushing up to me saying: "Granny, my Granny" , just like The Railway Children, & flung herself at me. Granny cried!

We did very little apart from a few walks. It was very hot & we just stayed in the garden as the incidence of CV19 is on the up in France. It was just lovely to see them & see their new house (they moved just before lockdown) & now I can really picture where they are.

I was glad to get back before quarrantine is put in place for France. Honestly, you would think there was no virus there. People sitting in cafes, kissing & hugging, NO social distancing at all. People barging past you in the supermarket etc. The only way you'd know was that masks were worn in all shops.

Lovely weather here & have started swimming again - the sea is up to 19C - which is about as hot as it gets here.

Hope you are all OK - have only skim read the last 3 weeks posts!

Fizzywinegum · 06/08/2020 09:41

Good to see you back magi - I bet it was lovely to see your family Smile

Enjoy the sea swimming - my pool opens next week so I’m hoping for a swim then

Raahh · 06/08/2020 10:37

Grin at Wreck it Ralph Grin
I do think Milos looks better when leaves his hair fluffy, and doesn't slick it down though.

Magi it sounds like you had a lovely time! I go stressed out just by one train trip into Manchester. Venturing any further would probably send me over the edge Grin.

Glad the office was ok Fizzy. 50/50 sounds like a reasonable compromise for now.

I think Dh's place of work have forgotten he exists. Grin. There has been no communication for ages about him going back unfortunately. His office is in Oldham- they are one of the worst areas at the moment for increasing cases. I can't see him going back soon.

It was supposed to be sunny here today- but it is quite dark and apocalyptic.

Tenuous tennis news Grin Aggie Radwanska was a pointless answer on Pointless, and I couldn't remember when she retired. When I googled her, I discovered she had a baby boy on the 27th July, Jacob. So that's lovely.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 06/08/2020 20:35

Grin in other tenuous tennis news Henri Leconte has just been on a look back of past Celebrity Masterchefs - he wasn’t very good!

That’s nice news about Baby Jacob Smile

Raahh · 06/08/2020 20:40

I missed Henri on the Mastechef thing!

I'm quite pleased (although it's not a bad name) that Aggie didn't name her son Leo. There are a lot of Leos it seems in ths last few years in the tennis world Fed pretty much has 2.

Watching John and Greg’s weight loss/gains over the years is also quite entertaining Grin

Raahh · 06/08/2020 20:50

It's funny, isn't it? Grin

Raahh · 06/08/2020 20:54

Masterchef makes me hungry.

Dh has decided, that because of the 'Eat out to help out' or whatever it is- we are going to the Japanese restaurant next week, that I should have gone to for my 40th (baby sitter was ill).

I am nearly 49 Grin

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 06/08/2020 21:04

Better late than never Raahh Grin - Japanese restaurant sounds good. I think I saw octopus again - only on Masterchef!

John Torode is looking quite old - I think Lisa Faulkner drew the short straw there although Gregg is very annoying (and probably on wife no 6 by now!)

Raahh · 06/08/2020 21:09

Octopus Grin

They love it on Mastercef.

Judy was set up

Gregg has definitely been through a few wives.

He is even worse than 'our Boris'. Though without ant actual talent for anything .

Grin
OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 06/08/2020 21:28

Both Borises have had a few wives Grin

Yes - what exactly is Gregg’s talent? He’s done very well for himself as a former greengrocer (not that there’s anything wrong with greengrocers)

magimedi · 06/08/2020 21:32

"I am nearly 49 "

Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had I been very precocious I could be your mama!!

( I was 65 a couple of weeks ago)

kazzaD66 · 07/08/2020 09:27

Glad you had a lovely time in France magi
I missed watching Masterchef because we had a power cut! Is it worth catching up on iplayer? I'd like to see Henri - did he have a large cognac and Havana at the end of his work station Grin
