New thread for season finale.

OP posts:
EasilyDepleted · 08/11/2020 19:25

It got a bit of a panning on Points of View today Shock

Raahh · 08/11/2020 19:31

Easily I saw that. I'm not sure what anyone was expecting- it's never been high art Grin- and most soaps/programmes are being affected by the socal distancing thing, so I'm not sure why Doctors is any different in that respect. Grin

EasilyDepleted · 08/11/2020 20:41

I did wonder if some of them had ever seen the show before.....

Raahh · 08/11/2020 20:49

Easily It did sound a bit like some of them hadn't !

EasilyDepleted · 08/11/2020 21:08

Let's face it, if it was high class drama this thread wouldn't be half as much fun Grin

Madhairday · 09/11/2020 10:10

What did they say on POV? Bad acting, ridiculous storylines, unrealistic portrayal of a GP surgery?

That's what makes it our wonderful familiar docTors!🤣

FatimaMunchy · 09/11/2020 10:23

I don't think the acting is that bad. Anyone remember Eldorado? That was really bad.
All the rest is true though Grin

Raahh · 09/11/2020 12:23

Fatima some of the acting is truly terrible- but a lot of the main cast are pretty decent actors.

Eldorado reminds me of the day of my graduation from University, because that was the day they aired the final episode. GrinJuly 9th- 1993. Grin.

FatimaMunchy · 09/11/2020 12:53

I used to enjoy Eldorado, partly because of the acting! I didn't realise it was that recent Raah.
DD has a friend who teaches drama at a university. She says the most some of her students can hope for is a walk-on part in Doctors!

Raahh · 09/11/2020 13:03

Well, 27 years doesn't feel that recent, but I suppose it is-ish Grin.

I suppose the fact Doctors got a mention on POV is something, I suppose- shows it hasn't been forgotten about Grin

The trouble with it not being on on a Friday, is it gives me an extra day to forget what happened in the last episode!

FatimaMunchy · 09/11/2020 13:12

I was going to say you don't expect good acting on daytime TV, but I really loved The Heights (which was prime time TV in Australia).

Raahh · 09/11/2020 13:37

Oh, I really enjoyed the Heights. I was quite sad when it ended.

blamethecat · 09/11/2020 13:45

I'm ready for my fill of WTF. DP is working from home but I've shoo'd him back upstairs Grin

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 09/11/2020 13:46

Raahh · 09/11/2020 13:48

SUB - oh, I've seen that one- is it where she gets married? She is vair posh in it, iirc.

blamethecat · 09/11/2020 13:49

Val is going to find the daughter isn't she ?

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 09/11/2020 13:49

Raahh I wasn't totally paying attention but then heard her voice and went ooooh GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

blamethecat · 09/11/2020 13:50

Did I miss something with fake midwife and Sid?

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 09/11/2020 13:51

Oh dear Val GrinGrinGrin

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 09/11/2020 13:51

Blame Deb fancies Sid

Raahh · 09/11/2020 13:52

SUB -it's one of the only MM ones I remember- mainly because of 'Zara'. Grin

Oh no, Deborah isn't still after Sid, is she?

blamethecat · 09/11/2020 13:53

So the daughter convinently lives in Letherbridge but has not seen her mum in years Hmm

blamethecat · 09/11/2020 13:54

She'll be drinking tea at her bedside by 2.15

Raahh · 09/11/2020 13:54

I think she was adopted/fostered Blame.
