New thread for season finale.

Ok, so sad person that I am (and because the BBC site no longer puts a proper cast list) I have just fast forwarded the recording of today's programme to look at the credits Blush- and Harper 2 is indeed Dylan Charles, Elisabeth DW's other half Grin.

RaspberryCoulis · 05/11/2020 18:58

I just looked up Dylan Charles (who has been in 5 episodes of Doctors as different people ) and he's 26. Dr Zara is 46.

Wow.

Raahh · 05/11/2020 19:39

I'm not sure that age is correct- he has a very lengthy cv- including a role as a police mechanic in 2002 (when he would have been 8?Grin).

Funster73 · 06/11/2020 12:08

Nice to see he even wears them off duty Bingle Bear

Funster73 · 06/11/2020 12:11

@Binglebong

I see Bear is back to being Rupert with the checks.

Sorry guys just catching up! Been a hectic week, DS doing exam resits Confused

Trying to watch and read the thread at the same time so have to keep pausing!

Funster73 · 06/11/2020 12:16

@Raahh

Aghhh! I nearly missed this- and then it wasn't on!

And yes, what was Deborah spying on Jimmi?
I think she has a seedy prison past. Which is why she is so judgemental.

This is exactly what I was thinking Rahhhh...I’m behind so you might already know by now!

@FuzzyPuffling

I love this girl!

Right back at yer, Funster!

Funster73 · 06/11/2020 13:55

Arghhh just turned on TV - no DOCTORS Sad
Completely forgot!!

Going to still have a chill and catch up with Strictly. (Can’t wait for someone from Doctors to be on it!)

Loved the dress Bingle you totally should have bought it....

MadisonAvenue · 06/11/2020 13:58

My husband’s off work this week due to having holiday to use up so we’ve been decorating and up until last night I’d only watched Mondays episode. Still got to catch up on yesterdays.

Just when I thought I could get back to normal on Monday he’s now told me that he’ll be working from home for the foreseeable.

Raahh · 06/11/2020 14:04

I would love someone from Doctors to be on Strictly- I'm sure (given how many actors have been on it over the years) that some very minor character must have been- but I would love to see some from the main cast on it. Or even a past 'big' cast member- Owen Brenman (Heston) looks like he could be a bit of a dancer, and Lorna Laidlaw (Mrs T).

Eeesh did very well in the dancing episodes that they did.

It's annoying that it's not on on a Friday- although I understand why. Hollyoaks do the same thing, and it still throws me.

FatimaMunchy · 06/11/2020 14:05

Has Ruma actually left. She's still on the credits. And if so, why? Did I miss something?

Raahh · 06/11/2020 14:06

Madison I feel your pain. Dh has been at home now since mid March ( a couple of weeks before wfh became 'official'), and I can't see and end to it. He worked from home every so often anyway- but not all day, every day.

I really miss my space.

Raahh · 06/11/2020 14:10

Fatima I don't think she has- and the odd thing was, when she was in the 'lock down' episode (recovering from covid) and they didn't seem to mention the suspension.

Raahh · 06/11/2020 14:17

(well, they might have done, but it feels like so long ago, I can't remember now!)

I hope Shak is still around, even if she isn't. I got quite fond of Shak. Grin.

FatimaMunchy · 06/11/2020 15:03

I don't think they mentioned suspension in the Covid episode, but someone said in passing this week 'when Ruma left' with no explanation.

Raahh · 06/11/2020 15:08

I have just discovered (no spoilers) Ruhma hasn't left - the programme at least - since she is in it next week, back from a 'holiday'.

Not sure though what is happening about her job (and part of me actually wants her back, if Deborah is going to be the replacement!).

Raahh · 06/11/2020 15:13

Actually- the episode does include stuff about Ruhma returning to work - I didn't read the whole article at first.

What is becoming apparent, is Deborah spends far too much time lurking around and listening into to private conversations that are none of her business.

Have I mentioned I don't like Deborah? today

FatimaMunchy · 06/11/2020 15:19

Did someone say on here that they wonder if Deborah is even qualified,? Or did I make that up?

Raahh · 06/11/2020 15:26

Fatima we've been wondering since she arrived if she is a proper midwife- she kept asking Emma questions about the simplest things when she first arrived, and doesn't seem to really know what she is doing. She seems to just get by. Lots of people on the FB page think the same, so we are obviously being lead to think that way.

I'm quite sure she's dodgy.
serial killer Grin

So it will end up being something really boring and she is just after Ruhma's job.

Madhairday · 06/11/2020 21:46

Doctors is back on? How did I miss this?
That's my Saturday then 🤣

FatimaMunchy · 07/11/2020 06:10

Or is Deborah just there to facilitate an item on workplace bullying?

Funster73 · 07/11/2020 10:19

RaspberryCoulis · 07/11/2020 10:27

No Deborah is clearly quite fishy, lots of fairly minor things but that a proper midwife would know, and that if you've been pregnant or had a baby you'd pick up on.

In an episode this week she was listening to a baby's heartbeat as the mother was in labour said it was dropping, but she didn't know what that meant, and didn't know what to do about it. Then the mother had a cord prolapse and Deborah just told her to push harder. I know Doctors can be a bit silly but they usually get the medical stuff more correct than that.

I think Deborah's one of those people who have a bit of training, but not as much as she claims. A HCA rather than a midwife, or a student who did the first year of her degree then left. Like that drama with Jodie Dr Who where she masqueraded as a doctor (and got away with it).

Madhairday · 07/11/2020 22:28

@Funster73 I know how to live Grin
