New thread...

Will Yasmeen get her freedom or will she languish in the jail (where so many have before her!) by the end of this thread?

Hopefully the police will get his medical records (can they do that?) and will then explore his apparent (lack of a) heart problem - another lie that has been shared widely. I think if that is discovered, that might crack Tim, as he has been genuinely worried for his Dad's health.

Starisnotanumber · 06/06/2020 14:11

I think as well the police had access to bank accounts and Jeff went to a private clinic for his treatment for clamidia so the payment would show up on his statement.
I can't remember the dates of he said that he'd seen escorts but maybe another clue.
Watch too many detective programmes as well as Corrie.

Nospringchickendipper · 06/06/2020 15:17

I would have thought that because he had previous history of abuse to women and that there had been contact with the police regarding Claire's Law would hardly show Geoff as being the innocent party.

Roussette · 06/06/2020 15:24

There's too many elements to this now to be ignored. We need Eileen on the case as well as Sally.

I did think on Wednesday's episode when he was in the Rovers... stood drinking on his own, there was an air of unease from the others there, I mean.. he's the one who's so say been attacked with a bottle by his wife, yet everyone seemed to be avoiding looking at him.

Honeyroar · 06/06/2020 15:28

Yes I agree, if Yasmeen has already had a visit (from the police?) regarding Claire’s law, surely Geoff would be under more suspicion from the police.

Everyone in the Rovers was looking at him uneasily. They’re all strong enough characters to speak their minds, I don’t understand why they’re not. Perhaps worried of offending Tim?

BrandyandBabycham · 06/06/2020 15:31

Who the heck is Hawp?!!

Honeyroar · 06/06/2020 15:33

Hawp is Hope, Fizz’s dayghter

Queenoftheashes · 06/06/2020 15:34

Hope Stape

BrandyandBabycham · 06/06/2020 15:36

Sorry just worked out it’s Hope!

BrandyandBabycham · 06/06/2020 15:41

Gail’s hair is shocking!

PoloNeckKnickers · 06/06/2020 16:43

You'd think Audrey would sort it out for her!

woodhill · 06/06/2020 16:52

Is Tim younger than Sally as Geoff is only 70?

Smallsteps88 · 06/06/2020 17:19

We can only hope that the police are doing lots of following up that we aren’t being shown and that they will soon sit Geoff down in an interview room and put it all to him before charging him with coercive control, stealing from the business, making a false report to the police etc.

PoloNeckKnickers · 06/06/2020 17:24

@woodhill

Is Tim younger than Sally as Geoff is only 70?
I think Tim is supposed to be younger than Sally. It's difficult to tell. The new Aadi looks about 25 Confused
Smallsteps88 · 06/06/2020 17:31

Tim is 48 and Sally will be 53 in July.

Roussette · 06/06/2020 17:33

The new Aadi looks about 25

Lol, yes! Stick him in a suit and he could be with whatshisname interviewing Yasmeen in prison!

KeepingTwoChevronsApart · 06/06/2020 21:28

Thanks to Mumsnet I keep thinking they're called Aldi and Asda Grin

Institutkarite · 06/06/2020 22:51

@Queenoftheashes

How are you supposed to pronounce Llio?
Ok, put your tongue up behind your front teeth in a rigid way, then blow out through your mouth, say Leo
PinkDaydreams · 07/06/2020 07:50

Dev should have told Aadi apologise to asha for the page 3 comment he made. Instead he’s allowed to keep on reminding asha about what she’s done, keep on bullying her, which isn’t right at all.

muckandnettles · 07/06/2020 08:13

I am very invested in the Geoff storyline as he is so hateful (such a good actor - he changes his face so we can all see what he is thinking and then changes it back again in a few seconds! He manages to stay just the right side of pantomime villain) so I'm desperate for him to be put away. I really hope the police see through what he says because surely his lies must be quite common ones in domestic abuse perpetrators? I would also like more information about his wife, Tim's mum, as I think there is a story there as well. She apparently had a 'drink problem' but I wonder what else might come out once Tim thinks about it? I think Sally has a lot of doubts about him and might get Tim to think about it more. There is a lot of evidence that is against Geoff, if Yasmeen just starts to cooperate and see what has happened to her.

muckandnettles · 07/06/2020 08:17

I liked Asha getting back at Corey in front of his mates - that was very good and a great role model for any teens watching Corrie. I liked the fact that Nina had given Asha the confidence to do that anyway.

Queenoftheashes · 07/06/2020 10:31

@PinkDaydreams yes dev is a shit dad to girls. He has been a twat about all this. Sunita would have been much better. Such a shame what they did to her character.

Roussette · 07/06/2020 10:51

Geoff's ex wife (Tim's mum) having an alcohol problem... it's obviously something he uses to control women.

Yasmeen when she came on the street was a feisty character, quite a harridan in fact, she's a shell of herself now. Let's hope she can speak out and how brilliant she's told Aliya that she caught clamydia from Geoff.

Roussette · 08/06/2020 19:49

Good episode tonight

DivGirl · 08/06/2020 19:55
