I'm just on episode 3 intrigued so far. Have you finished it?

BitOfFun · 24/05/2020 12:19

I'm on episode 3 too- really loving it. Very astute on social awkwardness around race and class.

LiveGr33n · 24/05/2020 13:21

It’s so good and a very good adaptation of the book. They handle the ending well.

BitOfFun · 24/05/2020 13:23

Ooh, don't say anything else- I haven't read the book!

SerenDippitty · 24/05/2020 13:55

on Episode 3. it really is good. I bloody love Reese Witherspoon.

Think Reece has bought the rights to make Crawdads and Elinor Elephant. Pretty sure I read she is staring in Cactus too. She has a real knack for picking good books and doing very good adaptations. Thinking of Big Little Lies.

LiveGr33n · 24/05/2020 15:16

Oliphant

BitOfFun · 24/05/2020 15:22

Yes, Reese is really using her clout properly. She's doing great stuff.

SavageBeauty73 · 24/05/2020 16:48

Great. I enjoyed the book so I'll start tonight.

Reece really is a force to be reckoned with. I follow her book club on Insta.

Missushbb · 24/05/2020 17:51

I wonder who she would play in Eleanor Oliphant? And would they relocate it?

LiveGr33n · 24/05/2020 18:37

Potentially Reece as Eleanor.

shartsi · 25/05/2020 00:00

Just watched 2 episodes. I love it.

2fallsagain · 25/05/2020 01:10

Binged 4 episodes tonight. Really enjoying it. Reese is brilliant. They all are.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 25/05/2020 03:03

Really enjoyed the series despite the ridiculous over acting by Kerry Washington 🙄

Missushbb · 25/05/2020 11:52

😂 she does over act a bit doesn't she? Makes some strange faces!

Loved Pacey back in the day. 😍

EachandEveryone · 25/05/2020 14:01

She was horrible on Graham Norton to Jennifer Aniston who was only making conversation saying Reese reads a lot of books and Reese said no she doesn’t really! So I would take her with a pinch of salt. I don’t think she is a book worm probably has people doing all that for her. There’s something about her I don’t like. I’d love to know what the rest of the cast on BLL’s thought of her. She reminds me abit of SJP comes accross as everyone’s friend but is known to be all about herself putting her name to everything and apparently not as nice to her co workers.

I am however enjoying this adaptation.

Emmas85 · 25/05/2020 14:11

I probably completely missed bits or something but I have questions. Whose house did they stop at at the end and where did Izzy end up? I'm assuming they didn't really pick her up?

Mominatrix · 25/05/2020 14:13

I do think that Reese reads all of the books instead of passing on to handlers - she is no intellectual lightweight and did get into Stanford. Did not go to pursue acting, but still - she was clever enough to get in so I don't doubt her when she says she reads avidly..

Mominatrix · 25/05/2020 14:37

Oops, I stand corrected. Reese did actually go to Stanford, she just did not finish and was an English Literature major.

She definitely does read the books.

EachandEveryone · 25/05/2020 17:20

That’s not what she said on Graham Norton! Made Jennifer look stupid.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 25/05/2020 17:25

I am enjoying this, haven't got to the end but feel like something dramatic is bubbling under the surface. Kerry Washington's character sure is moody.

Cerealkillers · 25/05/2020 17:28

Got through it all yesterday, loved it right up until just before the end. But I’m not sure there was an ending I’d have hoped for? Can’t wait to see Eleanor Oliphant as the book was brilliant!

EachandEveryone · 25/05/2020 18:06

Will it be In Scotland?

cheercaptain · 25/05/2020 19:53

Loving it. On Episode 8. Started yesterday after finishing Sweet Magnolias on Netflix which I also loved.

TeachesOfPeaches · 25/05/2020 20:08

I've finished it but found Mia's facial expressions quite distracting. Witherspoon is at her best when playing a rich white bitch.
