Anytime watch tonight?
I haven't watched

Was so willing them to recover, Peter was lovely and so accepting of the potential limitations. Very humbling.

Powerplant · 11/05/2020 22:23

I think everyone should watch the next episode what an outstanding hospital team.

purpleme12 · 11/05/2020 22:23

Yes he was so accepting wasn't he
Mind you I'm sure he said he signed this dnr thing years ago before all this

I have a family member who works on those wards. Was quite shocked there weren't more threads about this.

It was amazing. They're all incredible

OldSpeclkledHen · 11/05/2020 22:32

Bloody brilliant series, am recording both of the Corona episodes, so not reading the whole thread...

Fluora · 11/05/2020 22:33

It was brilliant.

TokyoSushi · 11/05/2020 22:36

Oh I didn't realise this was on, I love Hospital, thanks for highlighting, I'll find it on catch up.

purpleme12 · 11/05/2020 22:36

It is a brilliant programme. I've avoided all the programmes about covid but I'll watch Hospital

Made me realise just how lucky my trust has been. We've not been as bad as that. And too be honest we've spent the last 7 weeks twiddling our thumbs as we've have very little to do.

Toddlerteaplease · 11/05/2020 22:38

Pete and Nancy were just amazing.

Fluora · 11/05/2020 22:39

Same here - I haven't watched any tv recently, apart from the news, but luckily caught a trailer for this the other day.

Callmesausage · 12/05/2020 07:28

Really excellent programme, both these specials and the usual series. So pleased Pete and Nancy survived.

EachandEveryone · 12/05/2020 09:01

They are brilliant there. I will watch it later on.

letsdolunch321 · 12/05/2020 10:03

A great watch, looking forward to tonights episode

viques · 12/05/2020 10:17

It was excellent, and although they weren't mentioned it explained to me why the government put so much money and energy into the Nightingales and overflow mortuaries, it must have seemed at that stage of the crisis that the situation was going to absolutely overwhelm them. Thank heaven it didn't, and that lockdown slowed things down, but it makes you realise that although things have been awful, and that many people have probably lost their lives that need not have done, things could have been a whole lot worse.

The patients they focussed on were extremely lucky to have survived, and I wish them well. It was so sad to see them in their isolated rooms, fully aware of their situation and possible outcomes.

I was also struck by how awful those tight fitting exclusion masks must be to wear, the marks they left looked agonising, the thought of wearing them for an hour , let alone a whole shift ,made me feel very claustrophobic.

LIZS · 12/05/2020 21:46

Stanley 's sats Shock new oxygen tanks, container mortuary ...very scary

viques · 12/05/2020 22:02

Poor Stanley, but Hussein, wow, one lucky man. Wishing him a full recovery.

purpleme12 · 12/05/2020 22:02

It was interesting seeing the hospital so empty too

I'm absolutely in awe of what the staff there were achieving, in the face of such difficulty. Amazing documentary.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 12/05/2020 22:18

They got the oxygen in fucking quick, didn't they.

Davros · 12/05/2020 22:35

I live very near to the RFH I saw a planning permission application on the council's emails for two more oxygen tanks. Those massive ones I assume.

longtompot · 12/05/2020 22:36

I love this programme anyway, but the staff are just amazing in these two episodes. Stanley was such a brave man. I really felt for him knowing what was going to happen and his wife hoping against hope. The transplant guy was incredible, but he didn't really look that bad before he went off to icu, although of course he was with his sat readings.
This programme needs to be aired at prime time. People who disbelieve Covid need to see its real.
