Anytime watch tonight?
I haven't watched
I cried so much when the man got better and then when the woman made her speech at the end

Just watched the episode tonight with DH we both sat there so humbled by the care the staff were giving. Felt so terribly sad after watching it, all those days in hospital without any loved one with them.
Agree that everyone who doesn’t take Covid seriously should be made to watch it.
RIP Stanley.

Excellent documentary.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 13/05/2020 11:17

@longtompot was also just coming on here to say anyone still taking unnecessary risks must watch those. What a powerful documentary.

So emotional. The staff were calm and professional at all times. There was a little hope for Remdesivir ? drug to speed recovery.
RIP Stanley you dear man.

I watched the Life and Birth program on bbc1 as well as Hospital last night and it had a paediatrician who has recently died from covid on it. Gave me a big shock at the end when they dedicated the program to him. Very very sad. And made it all too real.

purpleme12 · 13/05/2020 18:50

Oh I saw that and wondered if he'd died of covid! Awful

Same @Davros . I shall think more fondly of them next time I see them, knowing their back story.

Amazing programme. The hospital operations chief (?Rachel?) overseeing all the planning just looking haunted by the whole thing. She had been asked about celebrating when it was all over, and you could see her brain thinking "I won't be celebrating, I'll just be relieved".

I suspect some people will see it and think "oh well, not so bad. Of all the patients they covered only 1 died."

ihatethecold · 13/05/2020 19:11

it was incredible to watch, it was also very moving. The staff were so caring towards all the patients. I really take my hat off to them all.

I am a counsellor and I really do fear for the health of these frontline staff when this is over.

So sad about Stanley I was thinking of his widow today, like so many others having to mourn in isolation.

I know she said she had 2 daughters but don't imagine they are at home.

The NHS workers are so amazing, wish the Covidiots would think of them when disregarding the distancing rules.
