Maybe now with fewer episodes and time on their hands the writing will improve with some decent story lines.

@RaraRachael
From what I could see charity didn't even get hit?? So why the four hour long debate about insurance and who did what?
Utter garbage. I think the social distance stuff has killed it.

TellingBone · 30/10/2020 16:35

Are we supposed to have detected a frisson between Charity and Moira's brother? Will she [dramatic pause] turn to him as Vanessa stays away?

And then gets discovered and Vanessa breaks up with her and the whole adoption shenanigans was a waste of fucking time?

They shagged last night when they crashed into each other.

TellingBone · 30/10/2020 19:22

Christ I must have missed that bit. I was half-joking in my previous post about Vanessa dumping her. Shock

JaneJeffer · 30/10/2020 19:37

So who took the photo then?

MrsSteveMcDonald · 31/10/2020 14:41

Yes it's a bit odd that someone would be out in the middle of nowhere like that who just happens to know who the partner of one them is to be able to send the photo. Still, when has reality ever worried the Emmerdale writers?

Smallsteps88 · 31/10/2020 14:43

I wondered if the photo was from charity's Dash cam? Perhaps she has a fancy one that detects when a collision has happened and sends the footage to your phone and somehow they’ve set it up to go to Vanessa’s?

Smallsteps88 · 31/10/2020 14:46

Although I’m now confused because in the episode I thought it was pretty clear they’d shagged but charity said they just kissed. All that banter and build up seemed to be hinting at doing a lot more than a kiss and after charity said something about it that implied a shag. Maybe she’s lying to Vanessa about how far it went.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 31/10/2020 14:52

They seemed to be rearranging clothes afterwards so I assumed it was a shag and she's trying to claim it was just a kiss as she sees it as easier to forgive

Grin Grin Grin at that jane!

Smallsteps88 · 02/11/2020 19:10

Are we really meant to believe that this man has held a lifelong grudge against his sister for sleeping with a married man when she was 18? Confused why would be even care? Unless the family were extremely religious. It makes no sense.

Smallsteps88 · 02/11/2020 19:12

“You won’t see me again”

Good. I hope the rest of us don’t either.

JaneJeffer · 02/11/2020 19:14

Jesus I never thought I'd be relieved to see Jamie! What the hell is this melodrama?

Smallsteps88 · 02/11/2020 19:18

It’s beyond awful.

JaneJeffer · 02/11/2020 19:34

I spent most of that episode laughing at things that I think weren't meant to be funny.

I hate how Tracey has to act out Vanessa's reaction.

Jojoanna · 03/11/2020 07:36

They obviously bear a long grudge in Moira's family,, she’s like the tainted woman

StillCoughingandLaughing · 03/11/2020 21:38

This is a complete contradiction of Moira’s original backstory. Her family were meant to have been quite well-off and disapproving of her marrying a mere farmer. I think at some point they decided it was ‘Nana Barton’ who had the money, so that she could refuse to lend it to Moira in protest at her marrying Cain.

JaneJeffer · 03/11/2020 22:46

I can't remember much about when the Barton's arrived except that they seemed to mention they had been married for twenty years every five minutes.

Jojoanna · 04/11/2020 06:09

When John Barton first found out about Moira’s affair with Cain he threw her out , so Moira went to stay with her Mother, so this storyline makes no sense anyway

JaneJeffer · 04/11/2020 12:44

I've just watched part of the episode before the crash where John dies and he's chatting to Moira about her mother almost catching them in bed together when they first met!

Smallsteps88 · 04/11/2020 14:16

I feel like we should start tweeting the writers every time they start ignoring characters’ backstory to fit a new storyline. Particularly when the new storyline is a pile of poo like this one is.

Smallsteps88 · 04/11/2020 17:04

I realised last night that Rhona hasn’t mentioned Leo in a long time. Marlon mentioned that he was a single dad of two but Rhona has been carrying on with life as if she doesn’t have a child.
