Maybe now with fewer episodes and time on their hands the writing will improve with some decent story lines.

"Charity stealing the scrubs and getting into a secure room was pathetic. Who came up with such twaddle?"

This

I burst out laughing, daft Charity channelling her inner Villanelle! She even did it earlier with the phoney foreign accent.

JaneJeffer · 18/09/2020 07:33

It was nice to see a bit of old Charity. They have made her so worthy these days.

@SoPanny

I know they’re trying to push the plight of Amelia as a young carer and it’s a relevant and important storyline but why have they picked the planet’s worst actress to deliver it?

Also: a note to the wardrobe team. Stop dressing Priya like a French maid. Fiona Wade is gorgeous. Enough with the miniskirts, towering heels and 90s club wear from Mark One.

Agreed!

She is beautiful. I don't know what age Priya is meant to be, but Fiona is 41 (which at 38, makes me sick). Not many 41yo dress like that, never mind those who are supposed to be from such a well to do business background.

But maybe I'm wrong. The actress is obviously comfortable with it, and if you've got it flaunt it.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/09/2020 09:48

It’s weird; I’d never really noticed her clothes, but I remember seeing Fiona Wade on Celebrity Chase and thinking ‘God, she really is stunning’. Maybe it was seeing her not ‘in costume’ that did it?

I’m 41 and thought I had good skin for my age, but I’m getting jealous now!

Smallsteps88 · 18/09/2020 13:29

41?! Shock she looks amazing!

JaneJeffer · 18/09/2020 18:33

The way they dress Mandy is awful as well. That horrible snakeskin coat with a clashing patterned top underneath. In the Classic episodes Mandy is always well dressed and has everything nicely matching and fitting her properly.

TellingBone · 18/09/2020 19:15

Amelia's learned a new 'move' at acting class hasn't she? That one where she casts her head back and puts finger and thumb to closed eyes.

The poor lassie's out of her depth as a central character I'm afraid.

mogloveseggs · 18/09/2020 20:28

I am way far behind with emmerdale but I'd forgotten Harriet was in hollyoaks! watching old episodes on e4

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/09/2020 21:16

She was Terry Duckworth’s ex in Classic Corrie a couple of weeks ago too. She had very big 80’s hair (even though it was a 1996 episode).

Redshoeblueshoe · 19/09/2020 12:01

Another thing about Dan - what did he do with all the money he got, wasn't it about 10k ?
Fiona Wade is stunning, but that outfit needs to go. I really like Leyla's haircut

RaraRachael · 19/09/2020 12:36

So we're now back to 7 rubbishy episodes as week and no sign of an improvement in the quality of scriptwriting or acting.

I was wondering the same Redshoeblueshoe about Dan and the compensation money. Surely he can't have got through 10K already unless he has a secret online gambling habit that hasn't been revealed. Haven't they heard of a food bank? I'm sure there must be on in the area.

I hope we're not going to see more of Amy now that she's got a job at the HOP. It looks such an awful place but seems to be the hip and happening place to be these days. The fallout from the Malone story is going to drag on and on and there's not sign of getting rid of Nate now that Tracy is pregnant.

How many storylines am I remotely interested in at the moment/ Zero
How may characters could I care less about? Zero

Thank goodness there is Classic Emmerdale to record and watch when I get home Grin

TellingBone · 19/09/2020 14:14

Yes, Dan should be receiving benefits and rent assistance.

Mind I've mentioned before that people in Emmerdale seem to manage without a job or claiming Universal Credit and searching for work 35 hours a week like the rest of the nation's jobseekers have to.

MrsKingfisher · 19/09/2020 15:43

I know it's a soap and I think we're meant to suspend belief (aren't we?!) however given they deal with real life issues I just can't get my head around how far fetched these storylines are. I wish the writers would up their game and actually make a soap that reflects what might actually happen should a murderer arrive or someone buries a man in the graveyard or that it's a village full of swingers.

excelledyourself · 19/09/2020 16:13

Where does Amy live?

JaneJeffer · 19/09/2020 17:21

With Victoria I think?

Get voting for the secret everyone guessed months in advance!

Nate was very overbearing with Tracy the other night Angry

Hi mind if I join?

I don't have much to say atm but just found this thread and didn't want to lose it!

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2020 08:19

Hi Blue

Jojoanna · 21/09/2020 12:49

Hello 👋

Redshoeblueshoe · 21/09/2020 19:07

Laurel is horrible

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2020 19:18

Liam is being awful as well.

Redshoeblueshoe · 21/09/2020 19:22

And Jamie.
I don't think they realise that if they make everyone horrible people will stop watching

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2020 19:23

Laurel's top looks like one of those 3D pictures.

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2020 19:25

Who was minding Millie when they were getting the pizza?

JamieLeeCurtains · 21/09/2020 19:31

I often catch Emmerdale on in the background when I'm waiting to persevere with Corrie, and it seems to have a similar problem with the younger actors all seeming to be from the same 'theatre stable' and not terribly good.

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2020 19:35

when I'm waiting to persevere with Corrie
I watched the other night and it was so depressing.
