Maybe now with fewer episodes and time on their hands the writing will improve with some decent story lines.

Bloody Amelia needs to grow up, she's so irritating, and no doubt Dan will be running marathons before the end of the month anyway

It’s all awful. Bobs acting is painful. They’re all awful actually. It can’t be the actors. It must be the directing.

There are some poor actors. Jamie. Jimmy. Jake. Leyla. Andrea. All the children except young Sam and Liv.

But I think it's more the writing. Stuff comes out of their mouths that jars with what might be said in real life; and really soaps are meant to reflect real lives aren't they? People behave out of character. People behave unbelievably stupidly. Unfeasible storylines.

Coronation Street in contrast [though it has fallen into the same sensationalist storyline trap at times] seems to manage the day to day interaction stuff much, much better. And the occasional poor actor is outweighed by a largely very competent cast.

So I guess we won't be seeing Vanessa for a good long while. I don't know how they're going to be able to continue her story

Why have Vanessa and Kerry been written out? Is Vanessa pregnant in RL? Or or is it her wife?

Who else has gone, with or without mention? Eric and Brenda - mentioned. What about Bear, Diane, Victoria? Quite a few actually. All the Sharmas? Unless I've missed episodes with these people?

Is anyone else struggling to watch emmerdale right now? I can't get excited by it, I record it and don't care about when I watch it. I can't STAND Jamie or his stupid simpering wife.

Same for me @Mairyhinge. It’s just so dull. I don’t care about any of the characters other than Cain & Moira.

I can't imagine not watching but I feel like I'm just clinging on for a new producer. The current team are terrible and they are taking no notice of their viewer's unhappiness with current storylines. I've seen spoilers and it's not going to get any better as far as I'm concerned.

I don't recall Lee being quite so handsome when he was in Emmerdale!

I think his character clouded our view of him. He’s gorgeous.

His real life rape drug supplying also turned me off!

It was very insensitive to cast him in that role. I have to say he's a brilliant actor nonetheless!
