Kids have gone away to their dad's place for the weekend, and I'd really like to get my teeth into something new.
Thrillers really are my thing. Series I've enjoyed so far have been Mindhunter, Unbelievable, Dirty John, Twin, and the Sinner.
The Stranger didn't grab me, and nor did Netflix's How To Make A Murderer.
I don't want to watch Tiger King as I would end up focusing on the animals' plight, and not giving a shit about the humans in it. I wouldn't be able to watch the one about the abuse of the wee boy.
But I do like gritty, and the grittier and scarier the better!
Thanks in advance Smile

Normal People!

Dieu · 09/05/2020 10:40

Also, there's lots I haven't seen, so please don't assume!
I haven't seen a single episode of Killing Eve, for example, but it doesn't grab me on Gogglebox.

It looks more like a romantic thing, unless I'm very wrong?!

Also loved the Nest on BBC1.

missmouse101 · 09/05/2020 10:53

Have you seen Life on Mars and then Ashes to Ashes to follow? The absolute BEST series ever.

Dieu · 09/05/2020 11:18

ssd · 09/05/2020 11:34

Following your thread op 👍

Dieu · 09/05/2020 12:07

Thanks all. I know it's wrong, but I am currently only really interested in psychological thriller type stuff.

The reckoning is defo a psychological thriller.

ThroughTheRoses · 09/05/2020 15:13

Not thrillers, but Undone and Upload on Amazon Prime are fantastic!

newchanges · 09/05/2020 15:14

Gangs of London on sky Atlantic or now tv free trial for 7 days with the sky entertainment pass
Absolutely brilliant

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 10/05/2020 12:49

I just binge watched Season 2 of Dead to Me and absolutely loved it.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 10/05/2020 12:51

Good Girls- Netflix

Standrewsschool · 10/05/2020 12:53

Completely opposite to psychological thrillers, but we’ve been binge watching MY Family, I’d forgotten how good it is!

glitterbiscuits · 10/05/2020 13:45

Have you seen Homeland?

LexieBB · 10/05/2020 13:58

American Horror Story? Not every season is good, but if you haven’t seen it I def recommend the following seasons: Murder House, Coven and Hotel.

LexieBB · 10/05/2020 14:00

All the seasons of Columbo are streaming on Amazon Prime as well. ☺️

DonLewis · 10/05/2020 14:02

Narcos.

bert3400 · 10/05/2020 14:04

A secret love - Docu - Netflix
Tiger King - Docu - Netflix
Unorthodox - drama - Netflix
After life series 1 &2 - Netflix
Normal People - BBC
Strangers - Netflix I think
Driven - Netflix - if you have any interest in F1 this is a must ( both series)

PlanDeRaccordement · 10/05/2020 14:08

I liked Rillington Place. It’s a mini series, only three episodes and about a real life serial killer in 1940-1950s London.

Also Bonfire of Destiny (cheesy name) which is set in Paris 1800s and is a drama/thriller.

Movies:
The Gentlemen- new Guy Ritchie crime thriller about London drug lords was good.
Extraction- yummy Chris Hemsworth rescuing a kidnapped kid
Close- female body guard protecting an heiress from assassination

muckandnettles · 10/05/2020 14:08

The Night Of
True Detective (series 1)
