Anyone watching the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's 'Normal People' on iPlayer?

I did five in a row and I never normally binge watch. I think it might even be better than the book which I loved.

I'm not normally a binger either - can normally do 2 or 3 at a push but watched 6 in a row yesterday. I loved the book too, although a lot of people have slated it. I'm glad the show has the same simplicity as the book.

The episodes are short so I’ve also been getting through them quickly.

I watched all 12 yesterday, it was a proper binge. I loved it so much I just couldn’t stop!

I haven’t even read the book but am definitely going to now.

Maybe we can get title changed to spoilers and discuss when we’ve finished?

Has antone read the book? Does it go into more explanation about Marianne’s brother and mother and why they are so cold to her?

Just watched the first two episodes. Really lovely feel to it. I too would like to know what's with Mariannes brother being jealous she was bonding with their mum (when she said about the flat and how she used to cycle along the towpath).

I can't stop watching it, it's breaking my heart. I think I have one episode left, I'm not stopping until I'm finished.

I'm reading the book at the moment and am in a rush to get through it now so I can watch it! Really enjoying the book so far.

I watched the first 2 episodes on BBC1 last night
Nothing wrong with the acting, they were all good, but I was so bored. Does it get more interesting?
If the kissing, sex and pauses were taken out it could have been condensed into about 8 minutes.

Loving it! Watched 5 episodes last night. It's so beautiful.

@EdwynCollins I thought the same as you. The sex scenes seem to be filmed in realtime! I'm watching with DD and we have both looked at our phones during such scenes 😂. I am enjoying it (up to episode 7 now) but yes it is quite slow.

I forgot to add that DD is a student and thought the clothes were very different what students are her uni wear and was surprised at all the wine drinking and smoking! Does anyone when it's meant to be set? We thought the phones looked like recent models!

Was wonderful I just finished it. So simple. I can't wait to read the book.

I read the synopsis of the book and it seemed snooze central, but I gave the series a chance.

Have to say I'm very taken by it. The acting is great and I liked the realistic sex scenes. I thought it was very well done, for a drama where nothing much happens.

I watched episode one and two on tv last last (can't get BBC player here to watch the whole series but I prefer to wait)
It was so good. Gorgeous chemistry and just what I needed to watch in this lockdown situation. Brilliant!!!
