Hopefully not before the end of this thread! Sad

Stupid chesney! “Have the tablets kicked in yet?” Hmm yeah, might as well have asked “are you going to be normal and make my life easier again soon?”

Honeyroar · 15/05/2020 19:51

Why aren’t they doing the Yasmeen storyline??? Time is ticking, they’re never going to wrap it up, are they!

Is this a racism plot coming up - the work not being up to scratch?

AdoptedBumpkin · 15/05/2020 19:53

The new guy at the Bistro seems an arse. He's pretty much my 2nd most hated character already.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 15/05/2020 20:09

Aww Craigy looking out for David’s mental health. That was nice.

Hate bistro ray and his new manager. Can builder/football family fuck off yet?

thenightsky · 15/05/2020 20:13

That's actually a bit like my DH's attitude to my arthritis. Bone on bone pain in my hip and he used to say 'FGS nightsky, is your hip STILL bad?' I've had a replacement now thank god.

thenightsky · 15/05/2020 20:14

Sorry... meant to add... my response was always 'yes, my hip is bad and is only going to get worse because arthritis is what is known as a degenerative disease'.

Back to Corrie.... it took me ages to figure out who Danny who'd been moved out of the bistro was. Grin

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 15/05/2020 20:19

That's actually a bit like my DH's attitude to my arthritis.

Sad I’m glad you’ve had some relief now from the pain thenightsky.

eddiemairswife · 15/05/2020 22:19

The problem is that the Ed/Aggie family haven't had any time to settle in and be familiar with us, so nobody cares about any problems they face. Also none of them are very good actors.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 16/05/2020 00:12

That's very true @eddiemairswife.

I love the idea of Ryan Thomas coming back with one of his real life brothers as Todd. That would be perfect - I wouldn't mind new head Todd then as otherwise I usually hate new heads!

Roussette · 16/05/2020 08:16

If we are bringing people back, can we have Liz McDonald. That woman playing her at the moment is doing a very poor impersonation

Hahaha, love it, that made me laugh out loud. I've met her (don't ask, long story lol) it was at least 10 years ago and I can assure you she looks very different now than she did then!

Builder football family are tedious, I'm not the slightest bit interested in what they do, so glaze over when they come on.

Clawdy · 16/05/2020 08:22

That post-natal support group - how beautiful was that actress playing the young mum? Just a short speech, but so powerful and moving. We need more of that in Corrie!

RedRec · 16/05/2020 09:07

@Clawdy Absolutely yes re the post natal support group and Gemma saying that could have been her speaking. Very powerful and moving and we definitely need to see more like that. I also wish her mum could catch a break and be recognised as the first one who really saw that Gemma was suffering (and not be portrayed, mostly, as a one-dimensional scally).

Optimist1 · 16/05/2020 09:50

@Clawdy Yes, the contrast between the composed, articulate woman who spoke and Gemma was moving.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 16/05/2020 12:03

I thought the mum was great too as she looked so composed and like she had the perfect life and yet was crumbling inside. So poignant and true to life and loved that Gemma realised she wasn't alone in her feelings. More of this type of thing please Corrie writers!

Thesearmsofmine · 16/05/2020 13:07

I also thought the group scene was very good. It would be nice to see a calmer side to Gemma, I used to like her character when she first cane into the show and when Kylie died but the quads storyline is just terrible.

I don’t like the builder family either, I don’t like any of them.

I would to see Jason and Todd(new head) back, maybe they could come back, Jason can go back to the builders yard and they could move into the builder family’s house (builder family can move on).
Eileen used to be a great character but we hardly see her now, her and Liz can be brilliant fun.

eggandonion · 16/05/2020 13:12

Maybe Jason could be happily married with a couple of kids. That's a good story line!

eddiemairswife · 16/05/2020 14:41

We don't need any more children.

Ritascornershop · 16/05/2020 16:14

For me the problem with Aggie, Ed et al is that they react to things, both in the way they act and the lines they are given. Aggie and the younger boy have 1.5 emotions each, and the dad and the older son just one. Mostly it’s the writing, I think. They also mostly don’t interact with the other people on the street (except to complain about Amy’s party).

PorpentiaScamander · 16/05/2020 17:30

The group scenes made me cry. Everything that young mum said was me 13 years ago.

PoloNeckKnickers · 18/05/2020 19:46

I don't know why Liz was distraught about telling Amy, Emma and Simon about Oliver. None of them ever acknowledge his existence.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 18/05/2020 19:50

Why is Nick hovering about in the back ground like a really shit version of the ghosts in Hill House?

Roussette · 18/05/2020 19:55

Good grief, how many are at the hospital, it's a bit OTT isn't it??

EggysMom · 18/05/2020 20:21

Did none of the parents go down with Oliver for his MRI? Our son's had two MRI and both times I've been allowed in the scan room with him (and they are bloody loud!)

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/05/2020 20:34

I missed the last ep and when I saw this one I thought Oliver had died, the way Liz was going on Confused

eggandonion · 18/05/2020 21:02

Craig is lovely. He needs a nice girlfriend and a happy life.
