Hopefully not before the end of this thread! Sad

Yes I think when Alya said they’d done the Claire’s law application the detective thought “oh! Hang on- there’s more to this” and she changed her manner towards all involved. She started being suspicious of Geoff (which he noticed!) and she was kinder to Yasmeen in questioning. Apart from showing her the ghastly neck wound! (I was surprised they showed that at 7:30pm! It felt like an episode of CSI!)

I’ve been watching the classic versions of all the soaps recently and it’s amazing the difference in character interactions. People having normal every day conversations. Not every interaction is a big reveal or a row or dramatic. For example: derek and Mavis have had their gnomes stolen and the storyline has been going on for months. Little snippets of it in every episode. It’s very amusing. In today’s corrie they wouldn’t even do a light humour story like that and if they did it would be done and dusted in an episode.

A couple of times Sally was looking very thoughtful, as if things weren't quite adding up.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 09/05/2020 12:35

Yes sally has worked it out. She knows her friend Yasmeen.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 09/05/2020 12:36

I’m expecting it to cause problems between sally and Tim. He’ll stand by his dad and she’ll believe Yasmeen.

ellenanora5 · 09/05/2020 12:57

I just knew that Tim was going to say something like that about his mother, Geoff has brain washed him into believing his mother was an abusive alcoholic, he also did that with Yasmeen when he broke down a few weeks ago pretending he was the victim of his first wife.

I hope Yasmeen gets to see a doctor soon, she's in an awful state and needs help.

Does anyone actually care about Gary, I wish they'd get rid of him altogether.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 09/05/2020 13:07

It’s been quite nice not having Gary’s face on our screens recently. Now he’s back Hmm also enjoying not seeing the squawked Gemma, her mother, (could do without seeing her brother and billy and summer) Chesney, the quads, Fiz, Ken, Claudia, Norris. Just FYI corrie writers Grin

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 09/05/2020 13:08

*squawker

DH was convinced Goth Girl used the F word when she was talking to Asha. We re-wound it, and I thought she had, too! Then we re-wound it with subtitles (shows how bored we are). She did indeed use an F word - Flipping! Grin

Hilarious seeing Gary trying to act the tough man whilst wearing his stupid crombie coat.

It's like if someone said to me... ok, get on stage and act like a tough person who takes no shit.
I'd be huffing and puffing, and swaggering around just like Gary is doing. I think he's a rubbish actor.

What in god's name is Maria doing with him, he's hardly fanciable is he...

Optimist1 · 09/05/2020 15:45

Did anyone watch Gogglebox last night? The reactions to the Yasmeen scenes were very emotional - I was as moved watching them reacting as I was to the original screening.

AdoptedBumpkin · 09/05/2020 18:21

I saw it @Optimist1. Kind of brought home how horrifying it was.

Dieu · 09/05/2020 18:38

Yes, when you saw it through their eyes, it had even more impact.

Poetryinaction · 09/05/2020 20:22

I think Sally will contact Tim's mum and get the real story.

Honeyroar · 09/05/2020 20:44

Yes Gogglebox surprised me in how much they were affected by Corrie (but none of the men!).

I thought Sally was catching on but then she was so cheery towards Geoff when they left I thought perhaps not.

Deadringer · 09/05/2020 21:39

I think they are all drama lamas on gogglebox, i love it though. Yes i would have assumed that Imran would have ordered a psych assessment and a blood test for Yasmeen, but perhaps the results could be used against her?

BreconBeBuggered · 09/05/2020 23:32

I thought Sally was looking a bit pensive as she left Geoff's hospital room. I reckon she doesn't altogether buy his take on it.

eggandonion · 10/05/2020 14:14

Sally can look pensive. Most of them can't do anything as nuanced as pensive. Gormless is as good as they get.

Thesearmsofmine · 10/05/2020 14:44

Perhaps Sally is thinking of those other charming men who have appeared on the street and turned out to be awful. Phelan, Richard Hillman, that man who stole money from her and she went to prison for,...

eggandonion · 10/05/2020 15:45

And that Alan Bradley, but he got his comeuppance.

crunchypeanutbutterontoast · 10/05/2020 16:29

Do Imran and Toyah still live in the same flat as Aliya (and Craig?) - if that’s the case surely Imran would have been aware of what’s been going on?

PoloNeckKnickers · 10/05/2020 17:10

Ooh good point, Crunchy !
What's with the detective's bowl haircut fringe? Confused

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 10/05/2020 17:13

Would Imran living with Aliyah be considered a conflict of interests? Wouldn’t that be a problem when it goes to court?

PennyRoyal · 10/05/2020 20:03

Where are Sarah & Adam living now they're married?
And did they leave Harry at their honeymoon destination?

summerrose11 · 10/05/2020 22:28

Looking by the latest announcement from boris I think corrie will end up running out of episodes

eggandonion · 10/05/2020 22:53

The interrelationships between families on Corrie would mean a lot of mixing of households. I dread running out of episodes, I know that Tuesday is bin collection day, Corrie is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so it must be Thursday if bin or Corrie doesn't happen.
