We have been discussing Our Girl from the first series back in 2014 and are now on thread 55!

Don’t know what gives you that idea ....

Ilovelblue · 10/05/2020 22:58

I didn't even comment you wll notice eejit - I know you too well! I knew exactly which scenes you meant!

Do you think BJ is a closet OG fan and has just outed himself! 😂

Ilovelblue · 11/05/2020 14:08

Haha eejit. The more I hear excerpts from his speech, the more I think about CJ. I like the idea of BoJo doing a watchalong with us!

Slightly irrelevant question: have we ever heard Kingy's first name?

I've been rewatching this series and wondering what chaos erupted among 2 Section when it was Fingers's funeral and there was no trusty old Colour to keep order. I can't see Hurst being up to it at that point and the Brig would have just bellowed something about doors and huffed off.

eejittwo · 11/05/2020 20:46

How very observant. I must admit I hadn't thought about that angle. Looking on the good side, they hadn't got Cheese by then.

Rhubarb01 · 11/05/2020 21:08

Evening all. Happy to do watchalong tomorrow - I've forgotten where we were with Soldier, Soldier either. I think everything was pretty grim for Dave and Donna, Marsha had taken that cheating rat back and Collette and Joe's wedding plans had changed and they were going to follow the boys to South Africa? Now that sounds more like and OG plot - plenty of weddings and trouble in Africa.

smallclanger I must admit that I don't think I've ever heard Kingy called anything other than Kingy - I wonder if his wife called him something when they were at Fingers and Marie's wedding? I didn't listen carefully, but she might have said something. All I recall was the rather avantgarde shade of pink he wore!

Very happy to do a re-watch of Elvis's highlights - that would make very pleasant viewing eejit.

As for Bojo's slogans - they're getting uncomfortably close to CJ's mantra - I wonder if Dominc Cummings is an OG fan? When we get 'Stay focused' we'll know for sure.

Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 20:34

Hi ladies. If we're doing the Soldier Soldier series, we're on series 5, episode 14 tonight (Baptism of Fire).

Are we all ready? I had no idea what episode we were up to - had to look back at the previous thread.

eejittwo · 12/05/2020 20:46

I reckon we are about ep 13 of series 5. At least, I know I've watched ep 13, but no ep 14.

Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 20:49

Yep, episode 14 it is.

Evening, was panicking a bit because I couldn't find the disc, then found it still in the DVD player. You can see how often I watch DVD's these days.

Ready to go in a couple of minutes...

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:00

Pressing play.....now! - I remember now that they had already go to South African and Jeremy had found himself a woman at last - no need for Dr Sadie to take pity anymore.

Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 21:00

Pressing play.

I too hadn't moved the DVD out from last time we watched Rhu.

At an airfield somewhere and a helicopter is about to land. Is it the Brig from OG in his younger days? Well, it's certainly the Colonel at least.

Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 21:01

We can compare Dr Sadie with Dr Antonio now!

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:02

More exercises in the scrub and they are useless as usual.

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:02

Well, I know which doctor I would prefer to gaze at ilove

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:03

This sounds familiar - a refugee camp and an evacuation needed.

Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 21:06

Oops got a bit distracted by a photo my godson has sent me.

Now, where are we. Ah yes, rescuing the aid workers.

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 12/05/2020 21:06

I'd forgotten how handsome Major Rory is.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:06

Gosh Dr Sadie looks like a soldier today. These were the days before they had medic's embedded in sections it seems.

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:07

Ah yes, Major Rory, that's a decent view too.

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:09

So Butcher doesn't get sent home after that Ivory stealing business. Meanwhile back at the medic post, the Colonel is worried about Sadie going on the mission. It's getting a bit emotional. Colonel Paul is not best pleased.

Rhubarb01 · 12/05/2020 21:09

Oh dear, tactics, that goes straight over my head.
