Another one happy that Marla has gone. I didn’t like her food or her personality, altogether too sure of herself and shamelessly trying to ingratiate herself with GREGGGGGGG!

Would be happy to see Claire go as well. Really like Natasha, David, and Thomas, plus the tall rugby guy whose name escapes me.

marmitedoughnut · 04/04/2020 05:38

Marla was my first choice to go but thought Beverly scraped through yet again, how can something in a bowl that needs a spoon be classed as a canape? Practically every canape I've been served is one bite finger food - canape in one hand and drink in the other!

LaMarschallin · 04/04/2020 09:11

Agreed about Beverley's "canapes" - looked like a small starter and not really fit for purpose.
Marla's were even worse - like a not so small pudding and I had visions of the chocolate melting over my fingers while booze-soaked sponge fell down my front. Hardly the "two bites" she promised (even for Greggg).

Starting to take a bit agin Beverley generally but looking forward to seeing her managing in another professional-type kitchen. Tee hee.

(And no, I couldn't begin to cope with it myself Smile)

Sertchgi123 · 04/04/2020 09:18

Why didn’t they even mention that Bev’s dishes weren’t canapés? Or did I miss something?

Sertchgi123 · 04/04/2020 09:19

Bev is annoying me now.

LaMarschallin · 04/04/2020 09:33

I think they said something about them being a bit big but then excused them because they had a spoon provided.
Which to me seems worse - at least Marla's could be held in one (albeit chocolate-smeared) hand, while Bev's required you to put your drink down to scoop up the salmon and undercooked rice with your spoon.

Standing at an elegant cocktail party, champagne in one hand, delicious one-bite nibble in the other: good look.
Standing at same party scarfing up a bowl of salmon and rice with a spoon: bad look.

LaMarschallin · 04/04/2020 09:59

Just realised that in two separate posts I've managed to call both Marla's and Bev's canapes the the worse ones for different reasons.
Decided, on reflection, they were both bad as canapes, although it sounded as though Jonty and Grrreg* thought Marla's didn't taste very good either.

Yea bit disheartened with Bev myself after that round. Say she will fluster major in the mass catering challenge

ilovesooty · 05/04/2020 04:48

She was on the trailer for Monday whingeing about them not being able to work any harder - just like she did in the professional kitchen.

LaMarschallin · 06/04/2020 16:22

Say she will fluster major in the mass catering challenge

Mmm...

Apparently 20lbs of spuds need peeling; don't know if that will fall to Bev - should be interesting Smile

PotterHead1985 · 06/04/2020 20:39

Evening all. I've been planning out dishes for the next few evenings (tonight not included). We have:
-Scallops with Bacon, Black Pudding and Colcannon with a Marsala Sauce

-Spicy Mustard Crusted Lamb Chops with Griddled Asparagus, Creamed Potatoes, Minted Pea Puree and Sauce Vierge

-Pan fried Duck Breast, Black Pudding, Poached Pear, Creamed Potatoes, Braised Red Cabbage and Bacon and a Spice, Orange and Port Sauce

That's where I am at the moment.

jay55 · 06/04/2020 20:59

I hope you're having choc fondant for dessert.

fourquenelles · 06/04/2020 21:01

Evening all.

Potter that sounds delicious. But where's the hispi cabbage and nasturtium?

I'm all settled in with a cup of tea and a box of Ferrero Rocher that I got for my birthday in January. Now feels like a good time to open them.

ellenanora5 · 06/04/2020 21:03

Evening everyone, hope you are all well

Now a harbour, another huge opportunity to get rid of Gregg but they never take advantage of it.

Shepherds pie
Vegetarian pasta bake
Casserole
Bread and butter pudding

ellenanora5 · 06/04/2020 21:04

Oh wait it's fine dining

GrouchyKiwi · 06/04/2020 21:05

This is a bit posh for a mass catering challenge.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 06/04/2020 21:05

Kin hell Potts, you’re living it large. A teeny bit envious.
Oh fuck, gregg has got his barra boy cap on. He’ll be dancing about singing “I’m getting married in the morning”(again)

PotterHead1985 · 06/04/2020 21:05

What could go wrong?!!?

No hispi cos Mammy doesn't do dark cabbages

Halsall · 06/04/2020 21:06

Hello chaps, mass catering! I always enjoy the custard round.

Hope everyone's keeping well.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/04/2020 21:06

At least PO Aitken has planned the menu. That was sensible.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 06/04/2020 21:06

Claire and Beverley. Oh god.

ellenanora5 · 06/04/2020 21:06

And they don't have to design the menu

What is happening!!

Halsall · 06/04/2020 21:07

another huge opportunity to get rid of Gregg but they never take advantage of it.

LOL
