I think Vikings is slightly better, but I enjoyed The Last Kingdom too. I'm currently reading the book series.

Last Kingdom is good but Vikings is superior

The last kingdom.

Vikings starts off well but it is and becomes even more “Hollywood” as it progresses. I suppose maybe that’s a plus for some people but it took a lot away from it for me. I persevered with it because my sister is in some of the episodes but I gave up eventually.

The last kingdom really held my attention (no mean feat- I have a useless attention span) and felt a lot more “real” compared to vikings. I’m now reading the books and really enjoying them having seen the characters.

When I say “Hollywood” I mean it was such a big production and every episode felt like it was a blockbuster movie with all the cgi and explosions etc. Some brilliant imagery but it just didn’t work for me.

Series wise probably the first couple of Vikings series are better than the first two Last Kingdom (the ones with Ragnar in basically ) but the third Last Kingdom (after it went to nextflix) is really good and Vikings is now awful sadly! Love the last kingdom books too.

For any TLK fans the forth season will be on Netflix at the end of april!!

I love The Last Kingdom. David Dawson who plays Alfred is such a good actor, and I am really invested in the relationships between the various individuals and groups. Characters are really well developed too. I tried Vikings but couldn’t warm to it in the same way.

So excited about the next series!

The Vikings series with Ragnar in were good. Not so keen on it after that. Struggled to really care what happened to the characters.

Loved how Alfred is portrayed in The Last Kingdom and the tension between the English kingdoms and the Danelaw is very well done. The relationships portrayed feel very real.

Earlier series of Vikings were better, later ones not so great. The Last kingdom probably averages out as better overall.

First few seasons of Vikings were ace. The last kingdom stayed ace all the way through though so another vote for last kingdom.

Loved both though. Agree with PP about Vikings starting v well.

Slightly prefer Vikings because I like the scenes set in Norway best. However if asked to choose between Ragnar and Uhtred I really really could not decide!

We been watching The last Kingdom and I was amazed. I love it, and now we tried to watch the Vikings and I just hate it. I just hate Ragnar face 😔. Can you please recommend me something else🙏🙏🙏🙏

Have you watched The Witcher yet? It’s a little different from Vikings, but very good.

The last kingdom. Watched it on nexflix then listened to all the audiobooks on my comments. I really missed Uhtred when i finished them.

I did enjoy Vikings but not as much. Ragnar not a patch on Uhtred.
