The only fairly recent episode that got me emotionally was the one where the woman was raped and didn't want to report it. Jo took all her samples so kindly and the female staff lined the corridor for her. I cried buckets at that one.

But recently there has been so little focus on the patients, it's all boring drama with the love lives of the staff.

I agree, there used to be some fantastic patient storylines.

Has there been a change in the writing team over recent years I wonder?

Lucywilde · 24/05/2020 12:28

It feels like it has become much more soap opera than anything else. Maybe we need to start an old greys appreciation thread.

titsbumfannythelot · 27/05/2020 07:38

If you like early greys (who doesn't) New Amsterdam on prime is worth a watch.

covetingthepreciousthings · 27/05/2020 20:07

Is the new episode today any better??

SarahTancredi · 27/05/2020 21:20

Ok this is weird I feel like an episode is missing..

Figgygal · 27/05/2020 21:27

I have 25 HD episodes clogging up my sky box as can’t seem to bring myself to catch up
None of what I’m reading here is making me think I need to get going with those

NotPennysBoat · 27/05/2020 21:56

I enjoyed tonight's episode - a little bit of everything!

OhhhPeee · 27/05/2020 22:07

For me it’s become so preachy and right-on, particularly Jackson who I used to love. I promise I’m not a Daily Mail reader but the most recent crop of interns, featuring a gay man, a gay woman, a trans man and a Muslim woman seemed so try-hard and boring. None of them seem to have actual personalities, just a bunch of “identities”.

And the way they keep introducing loads of not-Dereks as Meredith’s love interests, like she’s not interesting as a single mother-of-three award-winning surgeon, she has to have a man in her life. Yawn!

Having said all that, I keep watching. I have a theory that the ending will reveal Meredith in a nursing home, telling adult surgical intern Zola that she thinks she used to be a surgeon, and telling the story of her surgical career (ie the whole show) whilst suffering from dementia.

idontgetpaidenoughforthis · 27/05/2020 22:19

It's getting on my nerves.

Amelia do the damn test already, so sick of the Owen/Teddy/Amelia triangle.

Don't like that you had to see the latest Station 19 episode to know where the foster kid spring from.

And is this how Justin Chambers leaves? By just disappearing to Iowa?

effiesgoldwig · 27/05/2020 22:21

Ok this is weird I feel like an episode is missing..

That's because the case with the foster kids started in station 19.

SarahTancredi · 27/05/2020 22:40

I watch station 19 so knew about the kids. The rest if it still all felt like it had jumped some what.

effiesgoldwig · 28/05/2020 01:03

I'm wondering what's going on with karev. He's not been in it for ages and now he's not returning jo's phone calls.

Onemorefuck · 28/05/2020 07:06

Wasn’t Justin Chambers hurriedly written out of Greys due to illness?

NotPennysBoat · 28/05/2020 08:09

Heeey no spoilers!

MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht · 28/05/2020 08:15

@Onemorefuck

Wasn’t Justin Chambers hurriedly written out of Greys due to illness?
If by "illness" you mean "disagreement with Shonda" resulting in him being done dirty with a unhappy ending then yes, he was very, very ill.
Lucywilde · 28/05/2020 09:27

Back to being boring. I miss how before it was medical. Now it’s just dull. I’ll still watch it as I’m a die hard Greys Fan but I’m beyond bored of the story lines now.

SarahTancredi · 28/05/2020 10:55

Yy lucy

It wouldn't be so bad if they hadnt destroyed all the characters. It's impossible to give a shit about any of them any more so to expect them to carry the show until they decide what natural disaster is coming next is ridiculous.

Onemorefuck · 28/05/2020 11:02

Feel free to report my comment but don’t think it’s a spoiler If he’s already not in it

Onemorefuck · 28/05/2020 11:06

And judging by pp comments I am incorrect anyway

Lucywilde · 28/05/2020 11:38

We’ve had fog so maybe snow? I’m sure they did a flood years ago and storm.

SarahTancredi · 28/05/2020 11:40

Volcano? Then owen could operate with a sharp rock and cauterise with molten lava?

Being in the coast, it has to be a tsunami surely?! Which would stop just before it got to the hospital, obviously

MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht · 28/05/2020 16:04

911 had a tsunami this week, it's not impossible Grin

I was trying to explain to DD why I was watching GA the dinner party ep this week "well it used to be good and every season I say that's it, I'm done but then I get sucked back in" She advised me to give up. But I've invested in 16 seasons Shock
