So I had a look and I couldn't find a thread for this series (apologies if there is one already and if someone could link me!) so I thought I'd start one.

Who is looking forward to the new series starting tonight at 8bells on BBC2??

Can you imagine this mushroom
Starter being placed in front of any child at the banquet? They'll knock it on the floor.

How's your cooking going Potter? I watched a season of masterchef Singapore this week (on amazon prime) and the winner got loads of equipment including a thermamix

PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:27

Oooh I must find this. The duck was the last thing I did. I have been ill to be fair. Planning the next weeks worth before the BIG SHOP on Friday. Keep checking the MC thread.

(Also when I open my restaurant my MasterCheffians are ALWAYS welcome)

Glad to see the animals from the books being cooked this week... I'm sure that will encourage any children at the feast to tuck in. "What, we're eating Babe?" "Shut up and tuck in, it's a gastronic celebration of hte book"

PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:32

No faults with Allo Allo

Ouch at those 5s.
I do love that Richard loves his food.

PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:35

Aaaand she is whinging again. Why did she go on here if she wasn't confident.

OP posts:
PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:41

That's 3 things. IrishMEN can't count (I'm a half IrishWOMAN!!)

You might believe in her, she doesn't believe in herself that's the problem. I'll be surprised if she survives today.

She is totally going home. She is too high maintenance.

PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:48

She just dumped the monkfish on

I do agree with Richard he should have used the Brown meat. I wonder if he can deduct based on that.

PotterHead1985 · 22/04/2020 20:57

Where'd ye all go??

OP posts:

Im still frustrating by the lack of fun in most the dishes. And that the banquet dishes are not making it through.

Sorry to disappear.

LaMarschallin · 22/04/2020 21:25

Why weren't the amuse bouches tasted anonymously this week?
I'm sure they have been before or am I going lockdown-crazy?

And I find it odd how often The Tale of Jeremy Fisher and The Enchanted Wood series have come up. Beatrix Potter and Enid Blyton wrote loads of books. I'd be looking at something like the midnight feasts in EB's school books.

jay55 · 22/04/2020 23:56

I almost wrote earlier that someone should do a blyton midnight feast, a riff on tinned pineapple and, hot cocoa would be fun for dessert.
Or if doing the famous five do one of their picnics that the poor older sister always seemed to have to organise.

LaMarschallin · 23/04/2020 19:56

You're right, and it would make a change from endless versions of Ratty's picnic from WITW.

I wonder if the pre-desserts ("Or pre-pudding puddings as I call them! Ho ho!" - as bloody Susan Calman says every bloody time) will be tasted anonymously, unlike the amuse-bouches this week?

And why don't they call them "palate cleansers" and have something refreshing rather than a separate pudding?

There - I feel better for that mini-rant Smile
