So I had a look and I couldn't find a thread for this series (apologies if there is one already and if someone could link me!) so I thought I'd start one.

Who is looking forward to the new series starting tonight at 8bells on BBC2??

I was listening. I just had every pot on the go.

Hello, anyone who might be joining today.

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:06

Evening. I couldn't find the thread, glad you did. How's things?

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:07

I'm living up to my SN this evening, and have to disappear for a bit to make some bread, but ok really. How are you?

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:08

I see one of the chefs is wearing a Tommy Banks Special Apron.

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:08

I'm okay. I like Angela so happy to have a week of her straight talk

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:13

I like Angela too.

Gruel. How appetising.

Does Oliver Twist count as a children's book?

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:14

Oliver deffo not a children's book.
Is there a theme this week?

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:15

And savoury panacotta can do one, not the texture I want for my dinner.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:16

I didn't hear a theme but I wasn't paying a great deal of attention.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:22

It looks very pretty. The pannacotta is not.

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:24

Looks like when I try and be fancy and dot the Mexican dip trio on a plate, I'd not have added the flowers though.

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:26

What's the difference between a vegetable tartare and a chopped salad?

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:28

It's not much cooking.

That gruel dish looked a bit grim.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:30

Those are giant spoons they're using for the light/dark dish.

lettingthedaysgoby · 15/04/2020 20:31

Am late, watching on delay. Theme is action & adventure which (bizarely) appears to include Beatrix Potter... were the amuse bouche supposed to reflect the theme, cos they didn't.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:33

Hi letting. I heard that bit about action & adventure but didn't make the connection. Agreed that Beatrix Potter is neither of those things!

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:35

Thanks for the theme info. Why are they not doing Swallows and Amazons or something? Though better than Jackal and Hyde the other week.

lettingthedaysgoby · 15/04/2020 20:52

Lord of the Flies and Oliver are books about children, not children's books, I feel. None of the starters did it for me... & the last one was tiny

jay55 · 15/04/2020 20:57

The fish course has been tripping them up for a couple of weeks. Interested to see the scores.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2020 20:59

Is this the first time one of the extra rounds has come into play?

jay55 · 15/04/2020 21:05

Yes I think so.

PotterHead1985 · 16/04/2020 20:03

I'm here. Completely forgot yesterday's.

Evening, few mins late due to clapping, it's raining but still had a good show.

Oh, no Angela, poop.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/04/2020 20:04

Hello all.

Have just got GrouchyDog inside from Barking for the NHS.

Sir Micheal of Hair tonight. Interesting.
