Thought I’d do a separate thread for the finale so that if anyone is just starting to watch they don’t get spoiled.

Damian and Giannina. What a fuck up. I couldn’t live with her though. She is seriously hard work.

I've worked with a DV/EA charity, it probably does make me more aware of the first signs of controlling behaviour and gaslighting.

I never thought Amber and Barnett would make it, but they certainly proved me wrong! Barnett definitely grew on me as the series progressed - he handled the Jessica situation with a lot of dignity and maturity. Jessica and Mark...well, I think everyone could see that coming a mile off, except poor old Mark. Damian and Gigi I'm really on the fence about, I think there were definite faults on both sides but fundamentally they were just incompatible. Kelly and Kenny I thought were a lovely couple but clearly she just wasn't feeling it.

Cameron and Lauren though, what a beautiful love story. I always loved Cameron, not sure why people were saying he was creepy. To me he seemed a bit serious, but very intelligent and sweet and I'm so glad they ended up together.

It was interesting that one of Cameron's friends said Lauren was a similar type to previous girlfriends. He liked educated serious women and Lauren is like that. I hope he can have a bit more fun sometimes though as he did actually like someone in his 40s.
I think Kenny was also too sensible and Kelly wanted more fun and sexual attraction. He was perfect as a brother or best friend for her.

I've just watched the final episode but not RTFT yet.

I thought it was a bit of a boring episode. Is that because my life has moved on since last week? Or was there just not enough relationship dynamics for me? Dunno.

Gigi and Damien's behaviour was so hammy I'm fairly convinced that they were acting. Not saying that they are actors, just that they were both playing to the cameras. She especially is a little drama queen in her own soap opera.

I hated how they kept filming the groom who asked them not to.

I'm so glad to have my suspicions backed up by someone who has worked with DV survivors and knows the signs @AnneOfTeenFables. It was so obvious to me what he was doing and it made me viscerally uncomfortable. I still can't get over so many women here who think G was the bad one when he was clearly manipulating her.

It didn’t make sense that Gigi’s dress was mucky from the ditch and then was suddenly clean later on.

I’d like to see the reunion but i saw an interview that Lauren was on and she and Cameron are still happily married x

@Damntheman you seem absolutely obsessed with Damian. Just because someone has worked in the field of DV doesn't mean he is an abuser.
I think its a bit if a jump to label someone an abuser who has had some arguments with a drama llama on TV and also not showing the full conversations. In that argument with the mobile phone he even said "you're always on social media" and by the looks of it, she is. But yet he uses his phone he's not allowed? He gets it in the neck? Nah, she's controlling
It's also strange you've twice now said oh well I see I'm backed up by X,y,z. Well, there's plenty of us saying he's not. So we're backed up too.

Move on! Jeez.

Hore I consider it important than women learn to recognise the signs of abuse. It's also nice to find validation in others who saw the same thing. Just like how you've also found validation indeed. I'm not sure why you're so upset about it but I'm sorry to have upset you. That wasn't my intention.

I only discovered this at the weekend but I've totally binged on it Blush
I can't see Amber and Barnett working but who knows, it seems like a fair but unwise match.
Jessica and Mark I was just relieved, she wasn't really in it, seems to really love the pop and he scares me

Lauren and Cameron were genuinely adorable. Gigi and Damien, urgh drama llama and not healthy.
Will definitely watch the next series, and deny all knowledge Grin

MN has always been serious about dodgy relationships especially when TV tries to normalise them or deliberately feeds into the 'women are hysterical' tropes.

I loved Lauren and Cameron. It will be worth watching the reunion just to see them.

Cameron was so full of joy every time he looked at Lauren, that was gorgeous.

I was surprised Barnett went through with it. I wonder if he's massively socially awkward hence all the inappropriate sex talk in the pods, rather than the frat boy player type.

Damien was an utter cock.

Kenny will make someone a good husband.

Giannina and Jessica I can see making the reality tv rounds on the back of this.
I thought Jessica was brave to walk herself down the aisle, even though she knew she'd say no. I assume they contractually had to do the wedding at that point and couldn't not show up. I doubt Jessica or Kelly wanted to jilt the way they did. Damian of course loved doing it.

Looks like Damian and Gigi may actually be back together? They were certainly looking very couple-like in their Entertainment Tonight interview. In the same set of interviews Amber and Barnett are asked about Jessica and you can tell Amber is definitely not impressed. She seemed a lot more mature in the interview than she did on the show which was nice to see.
