Why do they need a camera crew with them? Can't the hunted just film themselves?

I think the camera crew remind the fugitives of the rules, e.g. about not staying in one place more than 24hrs, etc. It wouldn't make for a good programme if you only got chest-height shots from a GoPro and the fugitive could hunker down in a cellar for three weeks.

@EggysMom yeah I guess.. it's just seems so silly. They can hardly be "hidden" with a camera man etc following them. Each time it's on I say I'm not going to watch it.. but I do 😆

I get very tense every time the Hunters get near!

And yes all that discussion and watching of CCTV in the 'control room' will be filmed after the fact as they have no access to genuine CCTV particularly as it's happening.

It is so faked but I really enjoy it and feel properly stressed watching it! I'd never make a good fugitive!

We have just discovered this programme so have binge watched series 1, 2 and 3! DS said he wants to apply but was gutted to find he's a couple of years too young. He thinks that because he's an outdoorsy person he'd win a share of the money and wouldn't listen when I said it was probably a bit more difficult than that!

Yet more huge gaps in the storyline - how did one couple get to Stockport? The lads, one moment they were staying in a pub, then they are at a house on the x-box?

And talk about setup , when closing in on Toni we saw the hunters knocking on doors and asking "have you seen this person"; yet when they reach house where she's hidden, no polite knocking and question - they surround the house, peer through windows etc. So the camera crew must have fed info that it was the right house.

EXACTLY what I said! Plus, how can they just insist on entering a property like that? Even the police would need a warrant surely?

I still like to watch it but get so annoyed with what must be the blatant cheating from the hunters.

Not a lot of point in donning a cunning disguise if you've got a camera crew in tow. I'd love to know how the programme really works. Poor Merv - damn those tearoom snitches!

I watched last nights. Why didn't the woman lock the back door?! Why do they all close all the curtains? If it was me I'd hide in the attic with all the doors locked. Him stood at the window naked, what a knob!

I watched. So happy to see Frankie refusing to snitch on Dan.

He’s a bit cocky, the naked guy. Dan, is it? (Cocky, a knob and naked, hmm).
He’d already been to the gym in an earlier episode and escaped the hunters by about a minute. It would have served him right if he had gone back to Hayley's dad’s house to get the money and been caught.
It’s frustrating how they make basic mistakes like leaving doors unlocked and drawing curtains. Just hide upstairs for goodness sake!

But once again, this is surely "cheating". How can they just burst in to private property like that? Surely even the police would need a warrant to do that.

I know. Presumably under the rules the hunters can enter family the friends’ houses but not complete strangers who are just helping out.

I've always wondered how inconspicuous you could be with a cameraman in tow, turning up at a complete strangers house with a camera man...and there must be 1 camera man per person as they follow both participants when they split up. I thought if it was me (although I'd hate to be on tv) that I would call say 8 friends in different parts of the country one after the other, and ask if I could stay.....then decide and call each one back to either confirm or cancel. Then if you'd made 2 x 8 calls would the hunters know which lead to follow...?

You do have to wonder if any of them have actually watched the programme before!

They are probably not allowed to hide upstairs or in a cellar or something hidden out of view.
I guess having a camera man would help with getting lifts and/or accommodation. Maybe they can carry stuff too....

I am sure the basic mistakes they keep making are part of the rules, why else would you keep written notes lying around.

I used to find this programme interesting but this last series has just bored me. It is so heavily steered towards the hunters winning.

I loved the first few series. This one I am finding it all way too set up. They have not much chance at all and stuff like the bursting in houses and grilling the family's is so unrealistic. The whole crew with them makes it unbelievable. I think I would prefer them filming themselves.

Really manipulating dans friend who got caught. The police can't make false evidence like that surely??

Even if it was the police they would get a no comment interview and no entry without a warrant every time from me.

It’s definitely not as enjoyable as the first few series but yet I am still watching!

More dirty tricks from the Hunters by sending a fake message to Hayley and Dan’s friend...

I really hope at least 2 pairs get to the extraction point.
