I didn't watch LI last night but I can't really see what Mike's doing wrong. He's trying to crack on, that's the game. Find a couple and then win the money. He's choosing to try and get with Jess.

If he was subject to a police investigation, he wouldn't be on Love Island, and that's a fact.

And yes mike has behaved like a sleaze but he's also been respectful of Sophie during tasks etc i don't like him but as I said I do think Leanne played him and He wasn't disrespectful of her the sane she was to him. I can’t speak for the entire thread (and others) but in this instance she was entirely justified in challenging your ridiculous comment that Mike couldn’t have done it because the girl wasn’t pretty enough.

Mike is entitled and narcissistic and it makes me sick to my stomach to see him letching and pawing at Jess constantly. And the way he does it with such confidence is like he’s challenging her to defy him. Deeply unpleasant and I can totally imagine him using his authority as a police officer to prey on women outside the villa

Rollergirl11 ahh ok well somethings my choice of words is wrong, I mean I don't think he would risk his career on a girl that blatantly looks her age as I can imagine some 17 year olds look glamorous and a lot older than their years. So could be believable if in a night club etc and he mistook her age. But a plain Jane in the street who looks like a kid less believable.
And agree with a pp if their had been any doubt in that situation no way would they have put him on national t.v as the fallout would be tremendous. And itv can't have that on their backs after recent events, they are hanging by a string so would have had to do some intensive back ground work beforehand.

There is no doubt that Leanne acted dreadfully. And she was called on it.

Mike may like Jess. I think because she expressed an interest in him previously, he sees her as easy pickings. And even though she has said she wants to try with Luke, mike is still sniffing hard. She should (if she wanted) have shut him right down so clearly she is torn.

It is just the way he is doing it. It is creepy and sleazy. All he had to to is be around, be a presence. If jess’s head wanted to turn it would. No need for the sleazy stuff.

And also there are 23 hours of the day you don't see on the show...so what they are showing re mine and Jess are what they are choosing to show to make it more entertaining. Which is why people are shocked maybe that Jess is going there.

I don’t think Rebecca is easy pickings. She is quite gobby and would call things out as they are I think. She wasn’t shy about the avocado toast... nor was she shy in other situations. For example, the girl code.

Jess seems meek in comparison.

Rebecca was actually really rude about the breakfast and I think she’s probably become rather spoilt. Considering she’s actually very naturally pretty she scowling makes her look very bitter.

Rebecca is also very entitled. Rather than see Wallace making breakfast for her as the sweet gesture that it clearly was, she got the hump because he hadn’t made the effort to see if she liked it first. What effort has she shown Wallace?! Zero. She’s a joyless bitch.

She acted as if it offended her that Wallace had the audacity to make her breakfast! How is that reaction normal? Rebecca has this way of turning everything around and making it all about her.

@Sagradafamiliar and @LolaDarkdestroyer Mike is no longer a police officer though he likes to tell everyone he is. He quit to go on Love Island. Also GMP who he worked for have confirmed that there is an investigation (but not for what) and that a disciplinary date has been set. He hasn’t risked any career because he doesn’t have one with the police anymore.

I know. That's an internal probe into professional misconduct, not a criminal investigation. If he'd broken the law in any way, or if he was accused of doing so, he wouldn't be on Love Island.

Nobody has said he has broken the law though, telling a 17 year old they could ‘show them a good time’ isn’t illegal but it’s morally far down the scale of acceptable behaviour of any grown man especially a police officer. Personally he doesn’t elicit a response in me either good or bad, his current behaviour with Jess is a bit sleazy but again nothing illegal/out there. But it’s people on this thread that blame the women for his actions and try to defend him because the young girl ‘wasn’t pretty enough’ or whatever the wording was.

No they didn't @Rollergirl11, which is why I did. Because when you've got people saying he's sexually aggressive, handsy, entitled, a narcissist, and a predator who may abuse his position and then all that is next to 'he's under a police investigation', it looks like he's had certain allegations made against him.

Another one here saddened by people blaming Mike’s behaviour on Leanne

I'm certainly not blaming Leanne for his behaviour but I can see why the circumstances that Mike finds himself in have elicited a certain response.

He needs to be in a convincing couple to stay in the villa. They don't know when new people come in or when Casa Amor is scheduled so Mike's cracking on with Jess, who has certainly given him no reason to stop. She's his only option.

Sophie shut down Mike double quick. Since that, Mike backed off. If he were the sexually aggressive predator some of you are making out, he wouldn't have backed off.
