Can't believe they aren't all picking Sophie and Mike. It's a friendship couple

Sophie and Mike both have a sense of entitlement that they somehow deserve to stay on Love Island week after week whether they are in a romantic couple or not just because they're special and have been there from the beginning. And the other islanders appear to have taken this on board to some degree - more cool them...

I was really surprised they didn't all vote for Sophie and mike too. It does seem to be an unspoken rule they are all agreeing to that the original cast are protected.

I also think the producers threw Sian and Luke in because they knew the public would predominantly vote to save them. If they hadn't the public vote would have been more split across the rest and who was at risk unclear.

So it's likely they are looking to take someone out. It could be the likes of Rebecca, Wallace, Luke bieber because they are dull, or it could be mike because of the reports the police are investigating him for a number of issues.

But the vote for least compatible and then throwing Sian and Luke in was definitely tactical by the producers, designed to take less popular members out.

I didn't watch last night but voted to keep Mike in.

I want him to be given the chance to redeem himself in the eyes of the public. If he's dumped now, it will be to a very negative audience and I don't think he deserves that. I'd like both Sophie and him to be given the opportunity to be in a proper couple again.

Rebecca has had plenty of chances so I'd like to see her go.

I voted Sean's niece and luke t - they should not even be in danger as the only genuine couple! Stupid sophie and mike. Really hope luke bieber stays....not too sure how popular him and jess are though. Fingers crossed wallace and rebecca are dumped - I really dislike her.

I don't dislike Luke T but I still think he's a bit of a weird one, it's when he speaks.

I agree, I think if Mike comes out now then he'll be remembered as an arsehole and I don't think he's that bad - I'm prepared to change my mind on him though!

I think that the producers will play it so Rebecca stays as at least people are talking about her which is what they want.

@Morgan12 the first thing I said to my husband when I saw her with her hair up is that she looks like Tanya, Fievel’s sister from American Tail 😂

@Sagradafamiliar yeah I think it’s because he’s so deadpan when he talks. And he tilts his chin down and kind of looks from beneath his glasses. He has the mannerisms of a stand-up comedian. Very measured. Having said that he has grown on me.

Seans Niece has grown on me and i can't believe I'm saying that. Luke T has had a positive effect on her, they are cute together...but you never know what Casa Amor will bring.

I voted for mike too...much as I do t like coppers or his recent behaviour I honestly think Leanne had him for a twat and he's panicking that's why I'm he is all over Jess. And do feel a bit sorry for him. I also don't really believe the story that came out about him...he's not my "type" but obviously he could have his pick of women find it hard to believe he went after a not very pretty 17 year old.
Anyway hoping him, Sophie Jess and beiber stay we need the drama!! But Luke's a bit meh and too nice. Can't stand Sophie.

Bit surprised people are blaming Leanne for mikes behaviour. It's not her fault. He is doing what he is doing, and has done what he has done because that's who he is.

when Callum/Naz/Luke were chatting and laughing, Shaughna was behind them looking at a mobile phone - can anyone remind me of what they have access to on these phones? I had thought in previous years that they were allowed to message each other, but very little else - can anyone shed any light?

So, does he mean eg the 2 couples will be put to the Islanders to choose which couple goes - or something else, eg one person goes? OR are the production team waiting to see the voting result before they make a final decision on what will happen...?

I disagree re Mike he will be remembered or more likely forgotten in a few weeks as a creepy untrustworthy guy...because that is the way he has behaved not just since Leanne dumped him but from the beginning in my opinion. Remember why Jess doesn't trust him in the first place!

It's like saying Leanne should have been saved from her dumping as now people will only remember her as a selfish deluded bitchy person when before she was quite popular. She acted the way she acted and that's how she will be remembered that's reality tv... I think if you Start down the second chance road then surely everyone deserves that?

I agree the producers either want to save someone or dump someone that is why Luke t and Siannise were included as they think we will save them and then they can predict better who the islanders will save. Personally I think they want Rebecca dumped as she hasnt brought anything really and doesn't seem to want to be in a couple with anyone and I think the want mike safe as he is providing storylines which is all they care about but who knows.

Also, meant to say, I am astounded that they have banned smoking on screen, and they have reduced the amount of alcohol they are given (even pointing out that the beer in the game was 0%), yet there is no educating Islanders or viewers about how dangerous it is lying in the sun all day. It really pisses me off that many of them are burnt and red raw.

Oh god Mike was so slimy last night!! He’s like a guy that won’t take no for an answer - Jess told him she was focussing on Luke and he ran over and cuddled her in bed?!
If it comes to the islanders picking out of the bottom 3 they will send home Wallace and Rebecca surely - they won’t pick mike or Sophie as originals. Can’t wait for Casa Amor! I think Paige and Finn night be the only couple to survive it...

Lots of female socialisation in action on this thread. Blaming the woman for the mans behaviour, not believing that a man could approach a 17 year old and be inappropriate because she isn’t ‘very pretty’ and because he is now on TV and ‘doesn’t seem like that’. The police are investigating him, that they have commented on. They won’t say what but it’s enough that they deem it necessary to investigate.

Attitudes like some on this thread really drive me mad, the patriarchy have really done a number on us.

I agree, @MynameisJune how unpleasant to say a man wouldn't go after someone because she isn't pretty. Women are more misogynistic towards each other than men are tbh.

@Rollergirl11 it's not that, it's hard to describe but for me it's his how he speaks/his tone. He sounds sing-song, like a little boy would. It just strikes me as really odd but I can't knock the lad (in any other way!)

Another one here saddened by people blaming Mike’s behaviour on Leanne. Mike is entitled and narcissistic and it makes me sick to my stomach to see him letching and pawing at Jess constantly. And the way he does it with such confidence is like he’s challenging her to defy him. Deeply unpleasant and I can totally imagine him using his authority as a police officer to prey on women outside the villa.
