I know why there's the Lance/Ned confusion, both characters are equally wet & boring - easy to mix them up!
The pre-op scenes were ridiculous - it was clearly written from a teen's fantasy of how everything should go POV. Everyone's oh so supportive, the adoring family members are prepared to fly across the country but nobel Mackenzie is so brave & doesn't need any more support than some random locals - the hand-picked ideal "family." There's a minor miscommunication with the attractive, mature, supportive boyfriend which is resolved when he turns up just in the nick of time & the people wheeling the bed towards the operating theatre stop & melt into the background so he can profess his love. Once the romantic moment is over, the nurses/porters spontaneously reappear to continue wheeling the triumphant Mackenzie towards destiny & a perfect future.
I'm still
about Susan's earnest "we'll work around whatever you want" speech. As if she wouldn't have encouraged Mackenzie to wait until the holidays. I'm assuming they do have a long school holiday at some point? Isn't Mackenzie due to do the HSC this year? Seems irresponsible for all the adults to be such yes-men & not suggesting getting exams out the way before undergoing major, elective surgery!
Also, Elly spilling her guts to women she'd just met - as if! She'd be a lot more guarded, especially after the whole Karl/Olivia thing. And sleeping with Shaun in the garden... Who lives next door? As if the neighbours wouldn't all be peering over & gossiping about it! Nice of Aster to stay asleep while they were getting it on. For a baby whose mother complains about her sleeping patterns, I'm more concerned with how much she sleeps! Oh, and that fade-out kiss - hilarious!
I'm glad Koxy have sorted things out but I'm already bored of the Sheila/Levi secret. I can see it now - she finally confesses when he's already feeling dodgy & it pushes him over the edge & he has another seizure in front of her but it'll be a bad one that hospitalises him & she'll be wringing her hands at his side.
How did Therese think telling a police officer that they'd be "in his debt" if he got her step-granddaughter off a drug charge was anything other than an outright bribe?! Tbh, I think she's lucky he was a dodgy cop - Mark would've arrested her for that, unless he wanted to sleep with her. Then he'd have finished what Harlow started & had a bumbag BBQ. Still not sure why she didn't just drop the whole thing in the fire when she found it. The evidence would've been destroyed before the police arrived!
Sorry, I binged the week this evening & can't sleep - bad combination!
Did I miss any storylines? I know Kirshy turned up for 5 seconds but, let's face it, no-one cares about that! Oh - I missed the bit where Lance quit his job for his art. Any reason why he couldn't go part time, or just ask for the job back since he doesn't seem to have any art stuff lined up? Maybe EH are looking for a new art teacher to replace that one who's never been mentioned before but has suddenly had to rush off to tend to a sick relative leaving poor Susan in the lurch. He could connect with Emmett over their shared love of art & before we know it, Emmett will be heading off on a full scholarship to an art school in Outer Mongolia without any parental supervision. Probably waved off by his social worker, if anyone remembers he's fostered & thinks to inform them.
