Anyone else watching this on BBC2? I am, like many on MN, a big Pratchett (and Gaiman) fan so I have accepted this will not be as brilliant as the books but am ready to enjoy it.

It's very good. I watched it on prime and its throughly enjoyable

CoolCarrie · 15/01/2020 20:55

It’s excellent, great cast , love Michael Sheen and David Tennent, Jack Whitehall is also very good in this.

BananaChocolateLump · 15/01/2020 20:56

Damn got excited that there was another series for a minute!

1066vegan · 15/01/2020 20:57

I watched it on Prime as well. I was a bit nervous and didn't see how it could live up to the book, but I absolutely loved it.

Osquito · 15/01/2020 20:58

*book

@Dazedandconfused10 @CoolCarrie That’s great to hear - I usually enjoy Michael Sheen’s work, though originally I had hoped he would play Aziraphale.

Graphista · 15/01/2020 20:59

Question - do I need to have read the book to "get it"?

tinylittlehat · 15/01/2020 21:01

I haven't read the book and I loved it!

Whatsnewpussyhat · 15/01/2020 21:01

No book reading required. I've never read it and thought if was great.

Osquito · 15/01/2020 21:07

Ooh these opening credits are very Mirrormask.

Dazedandconfused10 · 15/01/2020 21:08

No book reading required. But as nearly always, it's better.

Blahblahblahnanana · 15/01/2020 21:59

Ah, that was really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it, can’t wait for the next episode.

MarinaMarinara · 15/01/2020 22:03

I think it’s great - watched it on prime last year, loved it and have watched the whole series several times over.

Binglebong · 15/01/2020 22:19

I'm enjoying it. But God's voice is wrong, the inflections are in the wrong place.

Pinkbonbon · 15/01/2020 22:19

Sorry but I thought it was a load of nonsense. But Tennant's in it so I'll give it another bash next week. Might be a slow burner. Like Pratchetts books so giving the benefit of the doubt.

FromTheAllotment · 15/01/2020 22:32

I thought it was terrific. Only complaint was the credits were too bloody long! Completely loved Sheen /Tennant’s relationship.

CodenameVillanelle · 15/01/2020 22:35

I loved this! Also listened to the audiobook on audible. I tried to get DS (11) to read it but the religion stuff went over his head and he didn't get it. Maybe in a couple of years!

Graphista · 15/01/2020 22:37

Thanks for the replies, I have prime so may give it a go on there

Binglebong · 15/01/2020 22:40

Most of it was wrong, but in the right way if that makes sense.

StillWeRise · 15/01/2020 22:43

I really enjoyed it, but found DT's eyes very disturbing!

TrainspottingWelsh · 15/01/2020 22:47

No, I'm waiting till dp gets round to watching it first and let's me know whether it will ruin one of my all time favourite books.

We watched the hogfather years ago, and as far as adaptations go for a family film it was good. But good omens is so full of outdated/ obscure references I think they might struggle to really adapt it to my standards! So dp has to be the test run. It's in his interest or he'll have to listen to me ranting.

Mrsjayy · 15/01/2020 22:51

I watched it on prime loved it so much im watching it again itis a delight I think I actually love Martin sheen Grin

Mrsjayy · 15/01/2020 22:51

God sake Michael Blush

longwayoff · 16/01/2020 12:19

You're in for a shock OP, unlike all the wretched previous adaptations of TP's work, this is very good indeed.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 17/01/2020 00:20

It’s great fun. I’ve watched it twice on Prime and now recording it to binge on a big screen

DP and I are using the wonderful opening credits theme for our entrance music at our civil partnership Grin

Taddda · 17/01/2020 00:27

I've watched it twice on prime also, great adaptation! Also love both Tennant and Sheen.
I do agree about the voice of god though (Frances Mcdormand?), it is slightly off, but I'm nitpicking...
