Anyone else watching this on BBC2? I am, like many on MN, a big Pratchett (and Gaiman) fan so I have accepted this will not be as brilliant as the books but am ready to enjoy it.

But good omens is so full of outdated/ obscure references I think they might struggle to really adapt it to my standards!

They have updated bits, knowingly but subtly (Crowley makes a comment about having to move with the times.) It works well, I think.

I saw it on Prime, and I really enjoyed seeing it again this week. I was worried about whether they'd do it justice before seeing it, but I think they have done an excellent job. It's not exactl'y the same as the book, and thete wee one or two bits where at first, I thought, this will spoil it - but it didn't. It works really well. I think they were aware of how many massive fans there are and that they couldn't afford to screw it up.

I really enjoyed this when I watched it last year.
I had expected to be disappointed despite rather liking DT but I wasn't in the slightest.
In fact I might rewatch it with dc and see if they enjoy it.
I hadn't liked any of the TP tv stuff up till then.

That's good to know Ebear. Still using dp as the test dummy though!

I actually was not keen on the narration, felt like I was watching (the old original) Desperate Housewives...

All the positive comments are making me hopeful.
