Forgot this was on tonight - will have to watch on catch up!

Delilah901 · 06/01/2020 12:40

The new DS Jay Morton is quite easy on the eye as well!
Loved Ant trying not to laugh when interviewing the blonde (no 11 I think).

PurpleDaisies · 06/01/2020 12:42

That interview was hilarious. I would just love to end a conversation with someone by yelling “Fucking boring!” and having them removed from the room.

Goldenbear · 06/01/2020 13:37

I half watched this whilst I read in the same room as my husband likes it. I felt there was an underlying sexism at play that led the bearded guy to conduct the interviews very differently depending on gender. He was incredibly patronising of the business consultant woman and had an almost predetermined disrespect for her. The guy he interviewed who had been to prison on the other hand wasn't in receipt of such disdain.

HighOnStilts · 06/01/2020 13:43

OH got me watching it for the first ever time and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fucking love how brutal they are!

GrimDamnFanjo · 06/01/2020 14:23

It's my guilty pleasure.
I dream that one day Ant will be asked on Strictly.

LoseLooseLucy · 06/01/2020 17:19

Watched it for the first time, really enjoyed it.

Ant is a good looking mofo isn't he?! 😍

ivfbabymomma1 · 06/01/2020 17:23

Yes I love it!!! That blonde girl trying to bullshit ant which what she thought he wanted to hear and he just goes FUCKING BORING .....GUARD!
😂😂😂😂😂

BringMeTea · 06/01/2020 17:48

I love it. Ant smoulders. Yes, no.11 was hilarious. I am an alpha female. Ok love, whatever you say.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/01/2020 19:55

I dream that one day Ant will be asked on Strictly.

That is inspired!

Delilah901 · 06/01/2020 21:43

Just keep watching Goldenbear - you’ll see Ant being equally dismissive of some of the blokes as well!

SimonJT · 06/01/2020 21:51

@Goldenbear He was playing with both of them. A friend was on a previous series, they will automatically pick on something that the contestant with struggle to hear, with him it was to take the piss because he’s a dancer.

hoteltango · 06/01/2020 22:42

I've watched previous series and they do target those they think are bigging themselves up or come out with trite Insta-type mantras. That's probably necessary just from a safety point of view - someone who believes their own hype could be a danger to themselves in some circumstances.

From what I recall, Ant has been in prison in the past, so he'll probably have his own take on what ex-prisoners say about their experiences.

SimonJT - has your friend ever written about his experience? It would be interesting to read a behind-the-scenes report from a contestant.

june2007 · 06/01/2020 22:56

Yes love this programme. It shows it,s not all about strength most f it is in the mind. (but yes you do have to be fit and strong.)

Jillyfartpants · 06/01/2020 23:54

I would love to sit on ant's face without my knickers on. Foxy is also very shagable.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/01/2020 00:02

We were watching it tonight and dh said "oh fucking shut up,what a load of boring bollox" right before Ant did Grin

Omg falling back into the sea? Fuck that!!! Shock

SimonJT · 07/01/2020 05:56

@hoteltango Erm, not sure to be honest, i’ll have a quick google. Not really, just found this that’s all www.thesun.co.uk/archives/tv/32262/gay-ballet-star-who-took-on-toughest-men-in-world/

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/01/2020 14:48

Ant's first book is actually really interesting as like in the tv show he demonstrates how the qualities needed for successful soldiering apply in real life.
I was amazed to read he qualified and served in one army regiment, left, joined the marines and then the SAS.
He's also a bit posh iirc.
And not very big. He writes about his mindset enabling him to overcome physical challenges.

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/01/2020 14:49

Foxys book is a sobering read as he writes about his personal experiences of PTSD.

hoteltango · 07/01/2020 20:12

I remember him, Simon - a lovely personality. He certainly showed that it's not about the big men with tons of muscles, it is about the stamina and endurance. And the last series showed that women could do it just as well as men.
