Episode one was particularly brilliant. Quite traditional horror and had me jumping, on edge of my seat and the right amount of eew in it. The endings of both episode 2 and episode 3 were brilliant. Feel like it had better closure than vampire films and series usually do.

I really enjoyed it. I watched all three episodes. I say watched, I could hardly hear the last one as I was at a friend's place. I had asked her if I could watch it but she always either talks at me or crashes and bashes around the place so I cannot hear.

She did that one year I wanted to watch Eurovision. I had been offered to go round the pub where another friend works but this other friend said why not see it at hers. She then got stupid drunk and abusive, taunting me for watching such a silly programme. Another of her friend's came around and they both cackled at my choice of programme. I never learn do i???

I know Eurovision is not for everyone but I love Fromage!!

Anyway, back to Dracula, I really liked it and the Nun was awesome!!

Well The Square was very weird but I enjoyed it. Obviously, I only watched it because of Claes Bang but it was really thought provoking. And he looked as hot as fuck throughout it. As an aside.

goldpendant · 08/01/2020 10:00

Good grief Mr Bang is hot.

OMG have just seen that Mr must Bang is over 6' 4" tall. Swoon

MinesaPinot · 08/01/2020 14:11

I was a bit Hmm after the first one, but DH loved it. However, we watched the second and third and I really enjoyed it. Had a 'behind the cushion' moment with the child and the end of Lucy's bed though. We both thought the ending was very well done and poignant, but liked the humourous touches as well.

AlaskaElfForGin · 08/01/2020 14:57

Just watched the first episode. What a load of nonsense - I LOVED it. Grin Nearly shat myself about four times.

There was a real LucyWestenra in the novel I think. She was one of Dracula's victims and it was Prof Van Helsing who first realizes that Lucy is the victim of a vampire,

Just started watching this and had to stop i think I need to watch it in the daytime!

KittyWindbag · 09/01/2020 07:25

Adored it. Have read the book many times and I feel like Moffat and Gatiss hold the same affection for the text as I do. Gently poking at it’s silliness, really leaning into the creepiness. Recommend the BBC sounds podcast obsessed with Dracula. You can hear the writers discussing it for three hours and you really get an understanding of how they came to write what they did.

I cannot understand the hate it’s received.

CelebrityDave I loved the bit where he'd been Skyping his lawyer as well and the wifi password being "Dracula"!

Lucy's cremation and eventual fate, and the undead (especially the little child) have really got under my skin. I had a horrible dream the other night which must have been related. It is very reminiscent of the (rather crap, sadly) Torchwood Miracle Day series, when all humanity loses the ability to die and they begin to incinerate the living corpses in camps.

peaceanddove · 10/01/2020 10:02

Hah, a couple of friends have commented that DH looks very like Mr Must Bang
