Third episode ...............Hollyoaks (28 Days) Later.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 06/01/2020 01:16

Celebrity I love the original Fright Night. It was Chris Sarandon, Susan's ex.

TheReef · 06/01/2020 10:14

Wtf was that all about. I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode, thought the second was ok, was left a bit Hmm after the last, such a shame

Late to the party Grinas ever but we binged on this yesterday on bbc I player.
When it was on last week I didn't fancy it al all but reading this thread I thought we'd have a look. Wow! Really enjoyed it, I thought Dracula was enigmatic, charismatic and charming, and the actress who played Agatha/ Zoe was fabulous, a great match.

I think the third episode was too far in the future, they seemed to jump an awful lot from the 18th century (19th?) to now. But it was great entertainment- I also enjoyed A Christmas carol that the bbc did, they seem to be doing some fantastic dramas , that's where the licence money's going?!

notstockpilingyet · 06/01/2020 15:57

@celebritydave I loved the last five minutes, too - found it very moving. I thought it was saying some very adult things about intimacy/fear of vulnerability/to love is to live with loss.
Or maybe I've been banged...

Crikey, yes. 'D'H insists on calling him Cillit Bang.

iklboo · 06/01/2020 17:50

They definitely should have had fish & chips in Whitby. Best I've ever had Grin

Mmmmm. Fish and chips. Whitby.

Even though I thought this was Not All That it has made me want to go to back to Whitby (I’m not far away) and read the gothic literature I was supposed to have read for my degree.

HeIenaDove · 06/01/2020 18:25

I also found the ending very moving.

TheTigersBride · 06/01/2020 18:40

I agree Helena It was a very original way of resolving the dilemma in vampire stories of how to end them other than a stake though the heart. It's a very original take.

It's because they're cooked in dripping.

AgentCooper · 06/01/2020 20:06

I found the ending really moving too. Some of the dialogue throughout I found a bit naff and I could have done without the Lucy diversion in ep 3. Claes Bang though. Holy fuck. 100% would bang. I actually kind of wish there had been more sex and nudity in it, purely because of him.

I feel like it would have been better if they’d just focused on the cat and mouse game between Dracula and Sister Agatha, the tension between them was incredible. She was so, so good, what a performance.

Try Seahouses iklboo- even better and a lot cheaper!

WombleOfTheThighs · 06/01/2020 20:57

I agree with Schadenfreude, Seahouses fish and chips no. 1 Whitby no. 2 in my estimation. Practically the only thing to do in Seahouses, mind Grin

penberrh · 06/01/2020 21:15

Fun fact: the laws of physics do not permit the existence of a fish and chip shop in North Yorkshire which hasnt won some kind of award.

AgentCooper · 06/01/2020 21:19

I wish we had got to see them kiss just once, I got the feeling she found him attractive despite not liking him!

@Celebritydave definitely! I think each saw the other as an intellectual equal, but were physically drawn to each other too, like they were the only fitting match for each other. I would have loved a kiss!

FlamingoAndJohn · 06/01/2020 21:21

This is true @penberrh. When I lived in North Yorkshire our local chippy had Micheal Parkinson saying how amazing it was!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/01/2020 22:01

This is true Womble

Unless you like looking for limpets . . .

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/01/2020 22:04

There also used to be a superb fish and chip shop in Clean - it was absolutely sublime, and made even the one in Seahouses look a pale shadow of a chip shop. I don't know if it's still there though as it's been a wile sine I've been.

(Because there isn't even limpet-hunting available in Cleadon - just a chip shop ... )
