Oh I just finished watching and saying how amazing it was and come on here and everyone thinks it's shite Grin

BuckingFrolics · 03/01/2020 22:51

Fab. Loved it. Unpredictable, well acted, stretched the imagination. Not corny or dull or cliched or pointless if "oooh sex". Well done bbc.

AutumnRose1 · 03/01/2020 22:51

I’ll definitely read it

I will watch the Mark G show another time.

Awww...still loving that ending. I thought it would be full on revenge and him still cursed to live forever.

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 03/01/2020 22:53

I did enjoy it. And I liked the way Renfield and Lucy were brought into a modern storyline. I'm undecided about the ending..... romantic, but was it really in character for Dracula?

MistyMinge2 · 03/01/2020 22:53

Well I bloody loved the whole thing and have been googling images of Bang whatshisface.

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 03/01/2020 22:53

Would a man with a 500 year old fear of death really suddenly embrace it like that?

SoupDragon · 03/01/2020 22:53

There were flashes of brilliance in the last episode but, on the whole, it was dire. It just didn't flow properly or work as part of the story.

Still, it answers the question about a Series 2 I guess.

APatchyTomCat · 03/01/2020 22:54

I did think it would be left open and we’d see Dracula walking the streets of London, just killing the unsavouries (in readiness for a series)

V impressed that it was closed off.

Nousernameforme · 03/01/2020 22:54

Do you think there is any relevance to the a to a name. I just thought zoe was an odd fit of a name

AutumnRose1 · 03/01/2020 22:56

“ Would a man with a 500 year old fear of death really suddenly embrace it like that?”

——

But would anyone really fear death forever? Or 500 years!

HeIenaDove · 03/01/2020 22:56

So was the character of Arthur Holmwood skipped or did i miss him?

RJnomore1 · 03/01/2020 22:57

Danish people are pretty aren’t they

lovelyupnorth · 03/01/2020 22:57

Fuck me it’s slow watching on catch up.

AutumnRose1 · 03/01/2020 22:57

Re Claes Would Bang, I didn’t realise how attractive he was till his first sex scene in the Affair. And I was surprised. Great acting. His character was such an arse.

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 03/01/2020 22:58

Dracula did for 500 years!

covetingthepreciousthings · 03/01/2020 22:58

I think Mads Mikkelsen would have made another great Danish Dracula too.

Dipsydoodle · 03/01/2020 22:59

The vampire emoji cracked me up 🧛🏻‍♂️

Holmwood is Lucy's rich fiancee, isn't he?

HeIenaDove · 03/01/2020 23:01

Yes but in this shes engaged to Quincy

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 03/01/2020 23:02

Ah, I guess so.

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/01/2020 23:02

Was her GBF called Arthur?

DeborahAnnabelToo · 03/01/2020 23:03

I loved the whole thing too. Just very different and adored the characters of Dracula and Agatha. I agree Lucy Westenra was annoying but I think she's supposed to be. The original character was annoying too- I remember the version in the Gary Oldman version being irritating. I'm actually quite pleased Mina was not seen again after the 1st episode and agree with Dracula's dismissal of her as "insipid and flavourless". The whole thing was really just a bonkers fanfic re-write of the Dracula story. (And well-written fanfic is a treat, not something to be scoffed at).

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/01/2020 23:05

This documentary is a nice little jolly for Mark Gatiss isn't it?

SisterAgathaVonHelsing · 03/01/2020 23:05

Loved it, no apologies.

CaveMum · 03/01/2020 23:06

Highly recommend watching the Mark Gatiss documentary, though every time I hear Bela Lugosi mentioned I think of this - skip forward to 1:52 😁
