Anyone tuning in tonight? I'm quite excited!

I’m assuming he was regenerating in his box of special dirt (Buffy reference for you there 😜) for 100-odd years.

God knows what’s going on with Agatha, maybe she’s immortal too? Or the two crewmen made it to Whitby and told their story to make sure they knew to wait for him.

Disillusioneddaisy · 02/01/2020 22:34

So basically he's been asleep underwater for several years and vampire Agatha is now a policewoman in the modern day??

VeniVidiVoxi · 02/01/2020 22:36

The undead deal hasn't been clarified has it? She must be the undead Agatha, rather than a descendant? Did Dracula just forget to set his alarm?

Dipsydoodle · 02/01/2020 22:36

Because she's a nun she's a good vampire!

Loving it. Makes a change from run of the mill period or cop drama.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 02/01/2020 22:37

I think Agatha didn’t die as she turned into a vampire. Dracula has been regenerating in the box for a couple of hundred years (underwater maybe slowed it down?). Then the two sailors who escaped made it to shore and told the story and that’s why they knew he was coming. Agatha vampire has been waiting for him and got a job in the police so she could be his welcome party.

CoolCarrie · 02/01/2020 22:38

That was great, loving it and fingers crossed tomorrow will be as good.

MistyMinge2 · 02/01/2020 22:39

The young lad killed by his mother was meant to go on the ship, but Dracula obviously got hungry before the voyage. The other boy pretended to be him as he wanted to go to sea. He didn't know how the other boy had been killed.

No answers on the chess game.

DeborahAnnabelToo · 02/01/2020 22:40

I was gripped throughout. Really loving it!

CaveMum · 02/01/2020 22:41

Re the chess game, Agatha said that Dracula can make his victims dream while he feeds on them, so it was all in her head.

Dipsydoodle · 02/01/2020 22:41

The chess game was just in her head. Or, well, an illusion put there by Dracula or as a result of the blood loss and his weird mind games. In reality she has been captured, taken on the ship and was in cabin 9 the whole time.

The mother staked her son to stop him rising again. He was meant to be going on the ship but then Piotr took his place

Looks like we finally get Lucy in tomorrow’s episode too.

AriadneAufNaxos · 02/01/2020 22:41

Why did it show the young lads mother driving a stake through her sons heart when he seemed to get away in the lifeboat?

2 different boys. The mother killed her son, Piotr. The other boy, who is really called Marius, was watching and decided it was his, i.e.'s Marius' opportunity to leave home But the ship was expecting a Piotr to sign on, so he used that name. At the end he owns up to being Marius

Doyoumind · 02/01/2020 22:42

The chess game was a dream/Dracula inside Agatha's head.

CoolCarrie · 02/01/2020 22:42

The chess game was going on in their heads I think, she was in room 9 and playing chess with him, but in their heads iykwim.

dementedma · 02/01/2020 22:46

My brain hurts. Preferred last night’s episode but this is still a good watch. When she could hear footsteps on the ship I had my blanket pulled up over my eyes as I couldn’t stand the tension!!

However, hard to accept that the ship’s captain would have survived the bite of a vampire. Drac really seems fairly efficient at dispatching people!

CodenameVillanelle · 02/01/2020 22:48

He didn't drink the captain's blood though, just fatally wounded him, so he could have stayed alive for a bit.

xJodiex · 02/01/2020 22:49

I was really looking forward to this. I have to say I've not enjoyed it at all. Portals to Hell was more entertaining tonight over on ''Really''.

Cooroo · 02/01/2020 22:51

I loved it. Both episodes have been great. Everything that makes you go 'what the fuck??' gets paid off.

everythingthelighttouches · 02/01/2020 22:51

But I’m sure Marius is undead too. He had a scarf tied round his neck and there’s no way Dracula would have let him get away.

Isn’t it possible that you can be undead but not a vampire, if you’ve been killed by Dracula but not killed and drunk human blood yourself?? I think Agatha is undead but not a vampire.

SisterAgathaVonHelsing · 02/01/2020 22:54

I thought he did drink the captain's blood. He said he "bolted him" so maybe it was so quick it didn't kill him. Bit tenuous. Living this though. Helicopter search lights a brilliant twist.

IcedPurple · 02/01/2020 22:54

Why did Dracula let Mina escape?

CodenameVillanelle · 02/01/2020 22:54

Jonathan was only sort of a vampire wasn't he? Could Agatha be a vampire but one who doesn't have to feed or who can feed on animals, like the twilight vampires?

everythingthelighttouches · 02/01/2020 22:56

Yes codenamevillanelle I think you can be undead but not a vampire.
