It starts at 8 with Why I Fired Them (because they were fucking useless obviously) and then the final is at 9. Who will win? Who will lose? Do we even care?

You're Fired or Hired is absolutely not the vehicle for Tom Allen. I did watch it tonight but it was just as low rent as his previous Apprentice shows, which I avoided after giving them a good go. Dire.

I'm sure You're Hired has always been an hour long before. Even with only half an hour, they managed to waste time with a song and dance routine.

She wasn't on the episode when she got fired either. I googled after that one to see what was going on. Apparently there was a "race row" because she'd called another candidate "Ghandi" during a WhatsApp group chat before filming started. The BBC was pissed off with her, she gave a post-filming interview to the Sun, that made the BBC even more pissed off so she hasn't been invited to anything after the filming of the main episodes was completed.

It was only 30 minutes long tonight? It was always an hour before. Perhaps the BBC knew that 30 min is all that people could tolerate of TA.

I think Scarlett was on the running until she tried to trash Carina. Not nice - not when you are the final two.

I’m glad it was Carina - I hope she does well. I also hope she wasn’t too upset that Lordysugar didnt clink with her and Karren did the one kiss two kiss shuffle with her. I wouldn’t be that fussed because of the 250k.

Loved Thomas having a chuffed weep.

I reckon he gets that chuffed with his pillars that he weeps into each one. The delay in delivery is because he is waiting for them to dry.

Can’t help myself but I like TA. I still miss Adrian though.

I feel bad now because I'd completely forgotten about Adrian Chiles. One of the things that I liked about him was that, apart from being a good presenter, he'd hosted programmes like Working Lunch so had more awareness of business than the comedians that have hosted since him.

Watching Your Fired was a given after the main programme and I have watched every series. However, apart from last night I have not watched this series, despite thinking the main Apprentice show this year was the best series in years. Only watched because I wanted to see Carina in "real life".

I cannot abide Tom Allen but clearly tv producers think he is gold as he is on every f...ing programme at the moment. I was shouting at the tv during the dancing skit last night. Talk about self indulgent. Was meant to be about the contestants and it became all about an unfunny egocentric "comedian".

I think it has been a good year - there are three very memorable candidates (Ryan-Mark, Lottie and Thomas) who will pass into Apprentice legend, and a solid winner whose victory was foreshadowed by a strong performance throughout the series.

You're Fired let the main show down. Next year, it needs -

  • More screen time for the candidates - the candidate should be brought on within the first five minutes.
  • More sensible discussion of the show - particularly the winning team and 'the one that got away'
  • Time not wasted on elaborate set-piece comedy that isn't really that funny
  • A personalised gift for each candidate - how can the producers not realise that giving the same gift week after week is boring for the viewer?

I think Tom Allen is fab. He injects humour into the proceedings and is not above making fun of himself and in turn the candidates. I am so pleased with the result, although I couldn't call it as Scarlet would have been a good winner too.

I haven't watched You're Been Fired since Dara left (well I've watched a few with each presenter, but didn't return to them as they were awful.)

I have however been practicing dressing like Ryan-Mark, with my dressing gown. It's a skill that on the shoulder thing. Feel I'm pulling it off quite nicely.

Yes, they are required to come up with a new name and brand for the episode, even if they already have one. It was just more obvious last night because Scarlett struggled so much.

The names they come up with for the episode are usually dropped when the business gets going. (I remember Dr Leah calling her cosmetic surgery business NIKS in the final. She only realised too late that as well as being SKIN backwards, it also suggested a lack of competence at the surgery! Funnily enough, NIKS wasn't used when she launched the business.)

Time for a change.

Change the main show back to hunting for an apprentice who will spend time in an AMS company, rather than a business investment. Promote apprenticeships as an alternative to further education.

And change the format of You're Fired/Hired to an interview rather than a panel show. Concentrate on the candidate not on the celeb host or panel members.

I like the way that the final task is to launch the business over the last few years, but with the resources avaliable, it was much easier to sell the concept of a bakery than top end recruitment that wouldn't promote through media such as TV adverts.

Both are worthy finalists, good, intelligent, grounded grafters who have worked well with some... ahem... "interesting" characters through the series. Thomas seemed much calmer and more pliable to work with, but Carina seemed to work well with him through the series.

I quite like Tom Allen but the structure was definitely too much of him and not enough candidate, the one who got away and the one to watch. The one who got away could have filled its own show this year! Maybe there could be a spin off of Lord Alan and Thomas, Black Adder style when they go over the top together Grin

I assumed she got the podcast opportunity so she had something else when Carina was away making bread. Not sure if she referred to it in her pitch, I guess we are only seeing a small part of the overall speech
