Xmas Grin it does, but I sort of wish it was about the other (one and only) AC!

Fizzywinegum · 29/12/2019 13:34

The mind boggles at what sort of contribution AC could make to Christmas - actually I think I’ll stop that train of thought right there (before magi comes along Xmas Grin)

magimedi · 29/12/2019 14:11

Hallo!

I think you all secretly fancy AC. You never stop talking about him!

Got home yesterday from a lovely, very chilled family Christmas. Hardly watched any TV, looked at my emails about twice & no other social media - I feel great for that break.

Best bit was Boxing Day, when I said goodnight to oldest GC who flung her arms around me & said: "Granny, I love you so much".

Guess who cried?

magimedi · 29/12/2019 14:16

In fact I think you all dream of this:

Raahh · 29/12/2019 14:25

Aww, magi that is lovely- your GC, obviously, not AC Grin

Fizzywinegum · 29/12/2019 14:44

Yes that is lovely magi (not the picture!) - your Christmas sounds perfect.

I’d forgotten about AC being in Strictly - why is his shirt being opened suggestively?Xmas Confused (I don’t fancy him really!)

kazzaD66 · 29/12/2019 16:19

I've had a busy day, just finished a load of ironing, which has kicked off my chronic back pain, so sitting down to chill for a bit before preparing dinner.......and what do I find but a load of AC waffle and a quite unnecessary photo Xmas Angry (welcome back magi !)

I know, it's my own fault for perusing this thread but please, no more of this nonsense! I thought it was still the season of goodwill Xmas Hmm

PrivateSpidey · 29/12/2019 17:15

Xmas Grin sorry kazza

I had been moaning about the fact that our WiFi is on a go-slow today until this happened! It's a Christmas miracle Xmas Grin

Jane Xmas Grin love it - sensible WiFi!!

magi that is so sweet about your DGC - how lovely. Glad you had a nice time and welcome back!

OP posts:
magimedi · 29/12/2019 22:16

Jane - Do let us know when your wifi is working again & I'll re-post the picture for you!

Kazza I had two shoulder ops in the space of 3 years & my lovely surgeon told me that I would make a full recovery but, sadly, would never be able to iron again. At leat that's what I told DH after my last appointment. DH now does all the ironing (little that there is now we are retired).

Off to bed - am shattered.

JaneJeffer · 29/12/2019 22:43

magi that's very kind but much like your shoulder I think my WiFi will never recover sufficiently to load that picture.

PrivateSpidey · 29/12/2019 22:58

Poor wifi.

Fizzywinegum · 30/12/2019 11:47

Wish my WiFi was as rubbish as yours Jane Xmas Grin

kazzaD66 · 30/12/2019 13:28

Even the WiFi has had enough of a certain butterfly fancier - hardly surprising Xmas Grin

I don't mind doing the ironing magi
Put some good music on and you can almost take your mind off it.
I'd take it over dusting, hoovering and cleaning the loos any day. Those things play my back up more. I have scoliosis and it's currently my right hand sacroiliac joint that is kicking off, which in turn, plays everything else up. I had to have an emergency chiropractor appt before Christmas and am now the proud owner of a belt that is worn around the hips to try to keep the pelvis in place. It reminds me of those belts weightlifters use! And it pushes the lower reaches of my rather large belly inwards and upwards Xmas Blush

Still, I like your thinking magi Xmas Grin

kazzaD66 · 30/12/2019 13:33

Just reading about James Ward coming in for Murray in the ATP Cup. Apparently, he's the only one that put his name down on the reserve list. Edmund, Broady and Clarke are all ranked higher but didn't sign up as a reserve and are due to play tournaments. Apparently, even Jack Draper was considered but he didn't sign up either Xmas Grin
Tim will be wishing he had stayed in England, doing an easier job, such as building the new Wimbledon car park Xmas Grin

Raahh · 30/12/2019 14:25

kazza definitely! Poor Tim,must be giving him a headache.

Fizzywinegum · 30/12/2019 17:49

Is Tim the captain? Hope he doesn’t wear his bank manager’s suit! I’m sure he’s got his clipboard ready though Smile

Fizzywinegum · 30/12/2019 19:23

The Tennis Podcast has also been good recently - the 2019 awards were funny and there’s also an interview with Marcus Baghdatis.

I think I want to be friends with David Law, Catherine Whitaker and Matt from the podcast!

PrivateSpidey · 30/12/2019 20:12

They seem lovely don't they Fizzy - knowledgeable and entertaining, the perfect combo! Take note AC!! (Chance would be a fine thing.)

I'm looking forward to their next episode (not sure when it is). The Baghdatis interview was good.

I see the Spanish team has arrived in Perth. I didn't realise this ATP thing was being played in different cities - I think the Aussies are playing in Brisbane if I've understood John Millman's tweets correctly. This is what I always do - pay no proper attention to what's happening, then am surprised when it's not how I assumed it would be! Xmas Confused

I hope Tim is well prepared - I'm sure he will be, what with all his project management experience.

kazza I reckon you should give up housework, just to be on the safe side, you know Xmas Smile

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 30/12/2019 20:25

I think they’re playing in three cities Spidey (from my extensive research although I can’t remember the other city - Sydney?)

Is Rafa playing in the Spanish team - I’m missing him. It made me laugh on the Tennis Podcast when they said that Rafa was ‘an absolute hoot’ and been more honest and open in his press conferences. I think he has been a bit less concerned about just saying the right thing although they were a bit mean about his English!

PrivateSpidey · 31/12/2019 16:39

Thanks Fizzy, that makes sense.

Rafa was in the team photo I saw, with Feli, RBA and PBC Grin Feli looked the youngest of all of them. He needs to "drop" his skincare secrets.

Has anyone been voting in the Wimbledon shots of the decade competition? If not, may I recommend not, unless you want to become annoyed by Kyrgios' "tweeners" getting loads of votes.

I ended up voting for Hingis in the women's one. And Delpo in the men's of course Xmas Wink

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/12/2019 16:48

Hmm How many under arm serves got voted for ? Wink

The ATP is basically a Roger/Dick fan factory. It also likes to remind people of the times Dustin beat Rafa.

Drives me nuts, and does nothing for my blood pressure.Grin

Raahh · 31/12/2019 16:52

And Wimbledon is just as bad.

Of course Wimbledon is worse, as it has the notorious 'list'.

What about Dick's 'chair throwing' prowess. Did that get any votes? Grin.

In 2020, it is my wish that he gets no air time. He craves attention. I have not missed him.
