Well having made a complete fool of my self by giving advance notice of the Mallorca Files I am about to do it again.

Or at least I hope not, given who the writer is and where the concept came from.

At this point I would welcome anything decent as there seems to be nothing but totally nonsense on the tv or repeats.

Thank you

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 10/12/2019 00:15

I've watched the first 2 episodes and so far it's excellent- just hope it keeps it up.

stumbledin · 10/12/2019 18:00

Have only watched one episode and will probably stick to watching one each day as I am a bit slow keeping up with plots.

Found it a bit slow but interesting, and interesting to have a nearly all female (lead) cast.

And as I had started rewatching the Loch because everything is is such sh*te didn't help my confusion that it has the same lead actress.

But seems worth sticking with - so far.

Ah I wondered where I'd seen her before!

I've only seen one episode, where are the others?

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/12/2019 07:53

On planner

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/12/2019 07:54

But yes the M files on bbc was awful 😂😂

stumbledin · 11/12/2019 16:48

ScapaFlo - I think the streamed version of the series if via UKTV, so it may depend on what sort of package deal for your tv. I only saw all episodes were available as I had book marked the series.

So if you are on freeview I think they are showing Mondays & Tuesdays each week.

I have found both episodes quick interesting, but wont say too much as dont want to spoil for others.

Was really irritated though when on another series in the break they did a trailer for the next episodes which gave away so much cant help but think why bother showing them. Angry

On a more trivial level, am really glad with a series that have so many female characters that they aren't all teetering around on stupid high heels. But on the other hand, I find the clothers styles are really wierd. But then I am quite old - and not living in Scotland!

Still glad to have found something that seems worth sticking with.

Apparently it is the first time Alibi has commissioned a series for itself. So maybe this is a sign of good things to come.

Instead of waiting for BBC / ITV old series they create something new.

And hopefully make some of the mainstream channels think a bit more about what they commission.

This maybe explains why it is quite good:

"It’s made by Red Production Company - masters at drama having created Years and Years, Trust Me, and Happy Valley - with an all-female production team."

UKTV has an agreement with Virgin that's why its available on that service. But sometimes it goes a bit wrong. They were reshowing the Bleak House adaptation with Gillian Anderson and kept not giving virgin all the episodes or in the wrong order. That's when I found out some of the UKTV tv channels can be watched on line.

I'm loving it, can't believe yer man from 'Line of Duty' is in it!

Agreed, very good actors.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/12/2019 21:06

Seen e1. Seems good so far

northernstars · 12/12/2019 21:50

Just watched the first two episodes. Picking up nicely. Does anyone know how many episodes in the series?

Neednameinspiration · 12/12/2019 21:54

Watched the first two episodes, also really enjoying this! High hopes for it.

ScapaFlo · 12/12/2019 22:39

stumbledin thank you. It was on on Monday and Tuesday I think - just caught up with both episodes. Liking Martin Compston's proper accent.

Bit pissed of that the aftermath of the fire scenes were dry - they'd have been absolutely soaking wet if the fire brigade put out the fire. And fire investigators are experienced officers who can tell which way a fire has gone.

I really want this to be excellent as I love Val McDermid and Amelia Bullmore.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 12/12/2019 23:53

I didn't realise that was Martin Compston's real accent - thought it sounded fake Blush

stumbledin · 13/12/2019 00:00

According to their web page there are 6 episodes, so at 2 a week it will be over before christmas.

I am going to watch it in real time, so as to have something to look forward to.

RingtheBells · 15/12/2019 17:51

I’m just watching episode 3 now, I found it when it was on a trailer when I watched 8 days, watching it on demand on Sky

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 16/12/2019 20:15

Whoever knew Jane from Eastenders was Scottish? Not me.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/12/2019 21:57

I did. As she was in Waterloo east

ScapaFlo · 16/12/2019 22:17

Which one's Jane from EastEnders?

Emma is going to lose or falsify evidence, isn't she?

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 16/12/2019 22:43

She's the one in hospital.
