Giving them a slow number as the goodbye dance was...a choice. And if Chris picked it, to do that to it was...a choice. Fair play, boy done good but Michelle and Dev or even Catherine or Saff were more talented. Did not stop me chucking away six votes last night in a bid for a shock elimination mind. I imagine he will be glad to be able to get to his kids' nativities, help Rosie with Xmas pre etc and have a bloody good rest and Karen can spend time with her rescue doggie.

It doesn't have to. Learning dance teaches you how to move and things like "spotting" when spinning and other techniques.

Yep it's the techniques that they already have so that the pro doesnt have to spend time teaching them. This then means they can do more challenging (and more impressive looking) choreography because they already know the techniques needed to make it work. For example in Karim's jive, when he threw in the pirouettes at the end, he was spotting which is something a non-dancer wouldnt do and it takes time to learn. Because he could spot he could put those pirouettes in the routine and it looks good, a non dancer would look sloppier if they tried it.

Also, even just understanding dance terms helps - just look at how blank Kelvin's face is whenever Shirley praises his technical ability while using technical terms ... he takes the praise but he hasn't a clue what she's actually praising. This means that Oti clearly has to spend time explaining the routines in non-technical terms, which makes learning routines harder.
