Whilst Tess May be low key, I much prefer that to a presenter who makes it all about then when they are not the show. I couldn't stand Bruce (would fast forward through his waffle if on catch up) and fear Anton would be the same. I like him as a pro, no idea what he'd be like as a judge, but please not a presenter!

What I was trying to say about Shirley was that she fawns over the boys at least as much, if not more than Arlene did

I think Motsi has been told not to critique the dances as that’s ‘Shirley’s job’. I don’t think Shirl likes competition. Just a vibe I get from her.

Anton as presenter would be awful, like having Bruce again who I always fast forwarded through. I think Tess is actually good in her role. Shes the 'straight woman' who holds the show together. Arlene drove me nuts with all her slavering over male contestants. Her and Shirley are one and the same to me. I miss Len so much though. I sit there muttering 'Len would hate all this faffing/flatulating' constantly these days.

I miss Darcy - if for a fab dresses if nothing else!

Agree to a degree - but I think Arlene gave much better, and more constructive criticism. She did seem obsessed with the sexual vibe between the dancers, but I think that's something that you have to at least pretend when dancing - especially in the Latin.

She was quite happy for them to fake their fleckerlgasms as long as they produced a good dance performance.

Len would not have liked all this faffing about their do now. I too miss Len

I was reading a quote from Len saying how much he disagrees with how the show has moved away from proper dance, into scoring being about how entertaining it all is. I think he’s right...

There's next to no dance content now, and the show is much the poorer for it.

It always got good ratings - it's not as though they needed to fanny about with it.

Out of interest.. where do we all think Jamie Laing and Will Baylett would have come in the competition had they not been out due to injury?

I don’t think Jamie would’ve got very far at all tbh; based on nothing, it’s just a feeling. Will would’ve lasted a bit longer due to his popularity, grittiness and lovely personality I think, but not to the final.

Agree about Dev, that was almost another Ashton Merryfield moment.

I DO like Motsi though ,she has a sense of humour (lovely to see her kiss Craig when the 10 was finally produced), she explained on ITT that she hated being negative to the contestants who were really trying and I understand . I wonder if the judges are made aware of the ringahs.

Shirley has got much worse this year probably because Motsi is there now and acts pretty silly at times.

Shirley giggling like a 10 year old just annoys me. As for her fanning herself when Kelvin danced, I thought she made herself look stupid and it was embarrassing for him.

A male judge would never be able to make such comments about a female celeb and get away with it.

Also all that standing up, dancing, clapping. I would like to see both Motsi and Shirley go next year and replaced with judges who talk about the DANCING. You know, the thing they are meant to be judging on. The annoying thing is Shirley obviously knows her stuff and can come out with very good and constructive comments and criticisms. Except of course when she is being mean to a female which is another thing I think is unprofessional of her

Aahh, Len - the voice of reason and common sense. He's right. There isn't enough dancing half the time. Too many pointless themed weeks where where the actual dance goes out the window because it's trying to be shoe horned into a song or theme; too many props taking up space on a good dance floor; too much faffing abaaht instead of just dancing. And as for contempowaft, just save it for the show dance, if you're good enough to get to the final.

To paraphrase the wise Goodman......it's all getting on my wick a bit!

From the promo shots she's not that much shorter than him, only a few inches (though heels and high bun are helping add inches )
