Alexandra and Gorka scored 39 in week 4 for their Proud Mary jive. I always think this is amongst the best dances to have been on strictly ( in my opinion ), it's one I watch again and again each year. Absolutely loved it.

Still don't understand why it's a problem to have had previous experience. People dont vote for the best dancer - they vote for who they like and for who entertains them

yet people question why Chris is still there?
ringers are a bit like cheats imo, unless they are honest about it.
I watch the landscape/portrait artist and on there they always say, 4 are professionals and the others are amateurs. I don't see why Strictley can't do something similar. I think the pretence on the show is annoying. (like pretending the results show is not done on the Saturday.)

A ppsaid the pros can't do contemporary, I have to disagree. Both Pasha and Artem had to dance in a variety of styles when they were in So You Think You Can Dance which (surprisingly) showed that ballroom/latin can be a good foundation for other forms of dance. I think the choreography for the weekly pro dances backs this up too - the styles have become much more contemporary/commercial over the years, demanding more versatility from the pros. Some are better at this than others, granted. Anton is not good at going beyond his comfort zone, whereas Karen and Janette are brilliant.

Karen and Janette are not Latin and ballroom trained are they? Karen is a Mambo specialist and Janette a Salsa specialist. Strictly went through a phase of employing professional dancers from Burn the Floor who didn't neccesarily have any ballroom or latin training.

Avoiding the internet for possible spoilers but rewatched the show this morning and think will be Karim and Alex in the bottom two; not because Karim isn’t good, it’s just that people have had enough, and as others have said, there’s been no improvement. Judges will save him of course, but the writing’s on the wall... he won’t win.

I really enjoyed Karim's jive last night because for once he didn't seem to be going overboard to show how hard he was trying and just did the dance. However he could definitely take a leaf out of Jay's book in finding quiet moments within the choreography and learning about hiding the effort which pro dancers do so well. Look at Carlos Acosta, he does incredible physical feats but you never see him straining to achieve them, he completely puts the audience at ease and appears effortless.

I also want to say that Chris and Alex have both obviously improved immsensely. They might not be as good as the others, but how can they be when they were both novices at the start?

@ManonBlackbeak I didn't know that. Was Janette not Aljaz's Pro partner then? I know he's a ballroom specialist.
