New thread. Nice chatting.

Will James and Ian finally have to knuckle down and do some work?

Kate's coming across really well. I didn't like her at all before but have totally changed my mind. She's a really nice woman and has the measure of that twat James completely.

He's a horrible man.

Anthilda · 01/12/2019 09:29

Never liked james, could tell from the start that he had a simmering anger underneath the 'helpful' and 'caring' exterior. All the 'ladies first' attitude didnt seem genuine and was more just something that hes been told to say by his mummy. It's obvious he is resentful of women and likes to dominate. Demanding ladies be top of the board thing they did 'because hes a gent like that', then 2 nights later throwing fish guts at one of the ladies.
Ian is a pathetic sore loser and has no depth to him, andrew needs to put his foot down with these two.
Ian or james to go next.
Kate or Nadine to win.

BillieEilish · 01/12/2019 10:54

Either Ian or James HAVE to go next, surely?

I agree with everything everyone has said, esp. Anthildal, good point.

Bogrod · 01/12/2019 11:36

Ian is a twat but in a very childish way.

James is far nastier.

BlueCornsihPixie · 01/12/2019 13:54

Ian is a whiny little prick. But he's a sheep, Im not sure hed be as bad without James. He has no power on his own. I wouldn't be scared of ian, I'd just want him to shut the fuck up.

James is a really deeply horrible man. His is all about power, dominance and control.

I agree perfectly put.

Everycloud12 · 01/12/2019 14:22

I agree too - it's exactly what I've been thinking too.

AppleKatie · 01/12/2019 14:41

Well we're all agreed, lets hope we're not in a MN echo chamber and he is evicted early enough to really damage his ego.

90% of the comments on Twitter last night were negatively related to James so don’t think it’s just mumsnet. I think the only issue is he causes lots of drama so there will be people who want to keep him in to stir things up. If it was vote to leave I think he would definitely be gone tonight but much harder to get rid of someone with vote to save! I think unfortunately he’ll hold on for a few more evictions. I think Cliff, Andrew, Myles and Nadine are all in most danger of going next.

unique1986 · 01/12/2019 15:04

James has awful teeth for his age.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 01/12/2019 15:40

Agree about Twitter, it's definitely not just Mumsnet who's not feeling the love for James or Ian!

Everycloud12 · 01/12/2019 15:45

James's face was a picture when he realised he'd been wrong with the ice-pop question.

Regardless of rudeness his point about not needing to think about the answer was stupid.

incognitomum · 01/12/2019 15:48

Don't know what his teeth has to do with anything?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 01/12/2019 15:50

James's face was a picture when he realised he'd been wrong with the ice-pop question.

I know, the way he just lay down in a sulk on his bed like a spoiled 3 year old made me and the kids howl!

I didn’t know anything about him before He went in so after last night’s episode I googled him. Urgh. I really didn’t need to know that Chloe is very sexual and they have sex every day. Or that they are equally passionate in their disagreements and throw plates at the wall. I give it 3 years.

Sarcelle · 01/12/2019 15:55

This is James in 2009 (with ex). Looks so different to now! Those rugby matches have prematurely aged him.

I read an interview where Chloe said she didn't like James when she first met him. Unsuprising really when you see what he's like on this. God knows what she see's in him now to be honest?

Annonymiss123 · 01/12/2019 16:41

I’m torn between wanting James being voted out, and keeping him in but voting for him to do all the trials. I definitely don’t want him in the final 4 when they get to do the fun trial for a banquet.

itswinetime · 01/12/2019 17:17

James is a dick first of with the trial -he made it super complicated just because he wants to do it for air time is the message I got then with the arrogance during the dingo dollar! He needs to go I think it will be a very different camp without him and is controlling sulking arrogance! Apparently he is favourite to go followed by Andrew then cliff! So fingers crossed!

JJ was right to call out everyone's attitude to Ian why does everyone have to tip toe round the baby.

I'm not sure on Kate one minute I think she sees through James the next she's checking with him it's ok she put the beans on! He isn't the leader and she is the cook it's a bit odd!

Cliff is back on form it seems so he must have had a bug from the start that must be why he kept being ruled out

BillieEilish · 01/12/2019 17:39

Is it ok to put the beans on? after that...

was totally sarcastic.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 01/12/2019 17:41

I'm not sure on Kate one minute I think she sees through James the next she's checking with him it's ok she put the beans on! He isn't the leader and she is the cook it's a bit odd!

She totally sees through him but I don’t think she wants to cause a scene or argument by having him blow up about something trivial. I don’t think she’s actually bothered one way or the other by when the beans go on etc, and I think she’s genius in purposely highlighting her contrasting laid back attitude and willingness to give way to those controlling types who demand things just so. The woman clearly has brains and opinion but doesn’t see the need for the drama. She’s like the mature one who’s inwardly eye rolling at the behaviour of the spoilt men and can’t be doing with it all.

Either that or she’s scared of him blowing up, like an abused wife! But I don’t think thst’s The case. I just don’t think she can be arsed with his petulance. I’m sure if he was an actual toddler she wouldn’t be letting him get away with it. Grin

CurlyhairedAssassin · 01/12/2019 17:44

I wasn’t keen on her before she went in but I really don’t know why. I think she’s brilliant now. A bit annoying in some of the trials but I think she’d make a brilliant friend. A woman’s woman.

itswinetime · 01/12/2019 18:03

I didn't get sarcasm from her but fair play if that's what she was doing.

I do agree she sees through James and I don't think she is a fan but I can't tell if she is as you say proving a point but being overly accommodating or she's placating him to avoid conflict/looking like a bad guy.

They have no idea how James is coming across to the public is she being really clever highlighting the issues or is she not rocking the boat I'm on the fence. I don't think I will know for sure till she is out and can talk freely. I do like her more than I did at the start though.

Sarcelle · 01/12/2019 19:28

I think she is treating him like a toddler on the verge of a tantrum. Which he is.

Dementedmagpie · 01/12/2019 19:31

We (me and DD) thought James seemed nice at the start but now he seems v controlling and wants to shut down anyone's view if it's different to his.

.....but photo from 10 years ago is irrelevant. Most people age in 10 years!!
I find Chloe Madeley quite irritating as well, so together I think they would be awful company!
