OP posts:
derxa · 23/11/2019 22:55

I really don't like any of them.
Alex She's OK and all round good egg and so's Neil
Kelvin Teeth
Karim Too short and no chemistry
Emma Desperate
Saffron Not as bad as everyone else think
Chris I like him- he's funny but he's not a dancer

Samcro · 23/11/2019 22:57
just watch her legs
ThursdayLastWeek · 23/11/2019 23:24

Oh I know Kristinas personal life doesn’t bear much scrutiny, but she was a real favourite of mine.

I liked the Priscilla routine she did with JD.

Wasn’t Simon Webb TLWMOB?

I don't think there was a single dance I got excited by tonight, it was wierd, wasn't it?

I actually thought Emma and Antons was probably the best executed, even though there was a bit of a pause at the corner.

I disliked both Karim and Kelvins dances - both too frenetic and disjointed and all over the place. I thought the choreography really was the big mistake.

Saffron just had a bad night, she's normally better than that. I think going out first rattled her and she lost her mojo.

Alex looked like she was being hauled about like a sack of spuds, bless her.

I'm a bit ambivalent about Chris. He did very well......... for Chris. That's the thing - when you remember that he'd barely ever even danced at a wedding, he's very impressive. He's a game lad with fairly good timing. He's just still the worst in the competition and there's no getting around that. But he continues to be very cheery and nice and happy and its just bloody pleasant not to have any weeping for a change tbh!

100PercentThatBitch · 23/11/2019 23:56

Beware the internet, spoiler is live

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 24/11/2019 00:01

Yes I agree with a lot on here.

Saffron.. not a fan but did anyone else think they sang that song way too slow.. which also slowed down the dance overall (not in a good way) ? I just can't like the samba anyway even when it's done really well. Can anyone remember a brilliant one and I'll watch It. I do want to like it

Chris. Love him.. such a sweet guy and thought he did really well holding his serious pose and face on tonight. I bet his wife will be dragging him up to bed later. Admittedly not the best dancer though. I'm divided on how long he should stay in for. I want him to because I like him but that's not really the point is it?

Alex. My favourite person in the show but I do fear for her now. She is much better suited to the fun dances that a reflective of her personality. Has she peaked maybe?

Emma- I just can't warm to her . I did love her Blackpool dance but there is just something about her. Unfair I know. It's not her fault (not that she'd care what I thought anyway!)

Karim. I totally back what Craig said. Technically I think he is the best in the competition but he leaves me feeling a bit cold. I didn't feel any emotion from what was obviously a massive story from his childhood. I wanted to. I was like floods of tears when I watched Janette and Will's contemporary. This just lacked flow and emotion.

Onto kelvin. He really looks effortless doesn't he? If him and karim both did Karim's Charleston from Blackpool right after one another we would see how easy and flowing Kelvin makes it look... and I love oti .I agree with others about the first bit in the kitchen (I can hear Len goodman moaning about all the faffing in the kitchen at the start) but once it got going I thought they were amazing. What I don't get is that how come he can only do one facial expression when he's an actor? Amazing movement but lacking in much emotion?

FilthyBiscuit · 24/11/2019 00:06

God these threads move on so quickly, I've just managed to catch up.

Did no one else find Alex and Neil's costumes getting caught up when they danced to Never Tear Us Apart kind of ironic? Just me then. And they're having an affair? Hmm

InglouriousBasterd · 24/11/2019 00:06

Best samba - Danny Mac and Oti. The only samba I think I’ve enjoyed! Although I did appreciate Kelvin’s Wink

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 24/11/2019 00:11

@InglouriousBasterd thanks. I do remember Danny Mac being amazing at most of the dances. Will take a look .

@FilthyBiscuit do you know they are for sure?

InglouriousBasterd · 24/11/2019 00:13

@Lemonsaretheonlyfruit I just rewatched it and it just gets better Grin

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 24/11/2019 00:25

@InglouriousBasterd

Thank you for reminding me of that! Just watched in all it's glory and you are right.. it's just Brilliant. I remember now watching it at the time and despite not being a huge Danny Mac fan that series AND not ever enjoying the samba before.. i played that back a few times as I was so blown away by it. You wouldn't see anything that good this series I don't think!

xsquared · 24/11/2019 00:26

Overall a very underwhelming evening in my opinion.

I didn't think Saffron was that bad to be honest, her Samba was better than Mollie and Lauren's, where they were both skippy as hell.

Wasn't keen on Karim or Kelvin's to be honest. I think they should just do away with couple's choice and stick to traditional ballroom and latin.

Emma's quickstep wasn't as good as I was anticipating and didn't she make some mistakes in a corner or something?

Chris' paso face looked as if he had caught a whiff of dung throughout the dance. Karen was dancing around him most of the time and I didn't think he deserved an 8 from Craig when Alex and Saffron got 4 and 5 respectively.

Disappointed with Alex and Neil's AT as it looked better in the training video. Perhaps they would have done better with proper AT music? The tangling of their microphone wires reminds me of Karen and Mark's incident during their salsa. They were allowed to start again.
I don't think Alex and Neil are having an affair. He seems very protective of her though.

ElGuardiandenoche · 24/11/2019 00:35

Found this on You Tube. Not a particularly good copy but we get to see Motszi dancing. I must admit I wasn’t overly impressed.

James Jordan, is that you? He gets so cranky about this on Twitter Grin

The trouble is, couple's choice is shite 99% of the time and then I remember I wouldn't have seen Faye and Giovanni's Theatre Jazz without it which was pretty much my favourite dance last year.

ChessieFL · 24/11/2019 07:37

I was very disappointed with last night after really enjoying Blackpool. It was very meh last night.

Piggywaspushed · 24/11/2019 07:44

Why would we call two people in a relationship an affair when they are both single anyway? Are we so busy looking for scandal where there is none? Confused

Theromanempire · 24/11/2019 08:10

Whilst I applaud Craig for his (in the main) realistic scoring last night, I cannot fathom how he felt that Chris and Kelvins dance was worthy of the same score Hmm - their dancing ability is miles apart!

There's loads of comments on DS about Alex and Neil and the wardrobe malfunction but, whilst it was unfortunate, their torsos being stuck together had no impact on her legs which were just awful.

I hope Kelvin does the Paso next week to show Chris how it's done Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 24/11/2019 08:15

The only two decent Couple's Choice have been Faye and Chucky Venn's.

SoupDragon · 24/11/2019 08:17

I cannot fathom how he felt that Chris and Kelvins dance was worthy of the same score

Expectations I imagine. One performed above, one performed below.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 24/11/2019 08:22

Lemons I feel much the same about the samba, the only two I’ve ever really liked are Danny Mac’s and Pixie Lott’s (the latter was camper than a row of tents in a tent shop, and all the better for it).

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 24/11/2019 08:36

It was just a bit underwhelming really wasn't it. I think this is the first season in a while where we have good dancers that still have wobbly weeks, usually it's quite refined at this stage to my recollection but then I'm an old bird ruined by sleep deprivation (thanks toddler) Grin

Felt sorry for Alex but that leg work in the AT looked like churning butter as Craig said Grin I do like her though.

Favourite dance was Chris, surprisingly. He's clearly popular and I do like him.

Karim felt like watching someone on speed. I could see it had technical brilliance but it was way too frenetic for me. When I think of a CC like that which was excellent I think of Ashley and Pasha last year. I wasn't her biggest fan but boy it was emotive.

Emma scares the shit out of me. She LOVES everything doesn't she. Strictly, Marilyn (strange choice as an idol IMO, but there we go) and she just looks like she's going to kill you with those eyes.

Saffy is just a bit meh to me. With Joe I felt some kind of personality but with Saff I just get a big bowl of nothingness. I think she'll be in the DO.

Kelvins was ok. He's looks too much like a young version of my dad to get on board with the love though 😂

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 24/11/2019 09:13

Maybe they should replace the CC with Classic; ie a Latin or ballroom number of their choice danced to traditional music. Would be a good indication of the celeb’s skills and how much they’ve improved etc, and would save us from more bloody awful contempowaft sob stories... they could do a VT with the celeb being coached and critiqued by an outside expert instead.

lynsey91 · 24/11/2019 09:33

I thought Alex was gay? I would also be pretty amazed if Neil isn't. If not and they are a couple then good luck to them.

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2019 09:34

Just marking my place, you lot can 'alf chat !! Thanks for the new 'fred' Thursday better late than never eh!!???

iklboo · 24/11/2019 09:47
