@OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow . That's the fashion, apparently

TheDogsMother · 26/11/2019 21:00

Night all. See you tomorrow

Lulu1919 · 26/11/2019 21:10

Night

PotterHead1985 · 26/11/2019 21:15

Until tomorrow folks. When hopefully I'll have heating again.

Hiphopopotamus · 26/11/2019 21:38

So basically the skills test is completely meaningless - you might as well not bother Hmm

ilovesooty · 27/11/2019 01:41

You'd think they'd have given some consideration to the skills test. Thank you for remembering me ProperVexed . See you all tomorrow.

SapatSea · 27/11/2019 11:58

Even we he was told to leave, Rob was still maintaining his quail and corn had "split the judges", no it didn't, they all hated it.

I feel for Debbie, she aced that skills test, and seemed well organised and calm, but it seems to count for nothing! I know some of you liked it but the thought of putting Exose's custardy dessert in my mouth made me feel ill, the raspberry powder was so intense it gave me a headache. He totally failed on the skills, not seen an artichoke?? but works in "fine dining" hmm... he knew what aquafaba was though. Marcus said the dessert lacked extra textures and I agree. I do sometimes think (relatively) older people are judged more harshly.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/11/2019 12:07

Rob was well weird with the way he insisted he had split the judges. Blind spot a mile wide. Unless they edited out some positive comments (which seems unlikely).

It looks like our internet won't be fixed before the end of the next week (they have royally screwed up) so I won't be joining in the thread properly for ages, if at all. I'm really hoping they have it sorted by the final. Sad

PotterHead1985 · 27/11/2019 12:31

My heating is fixed GrinGrin. Only took 2.5 years Angry.

Gary Rhodes has died Sad

Whatsitlike · 27/11/2019 14:03

Hi all, would it be ok to join in this evening? Loving the comments on here!

Sad news about Gary Rhodes..

RomaineCalm · 27/11/2019 15:27

Very sad news about Gary Rhodes, he was so young.

The skill tests have really frustrated me this series. The results of them aren't used consistently and the tests themselves vary massively with some candidates having to gut a killer shark and serve with neverheardof sauce whilst others get a cheese and pickle sandwich to make.

We'll see you later @Whatsitlike! Smile

We were talking about the skills test at work today, everyone agreed how unfair it was on Debbie.

And the first thing I said last night when Oxo walked in was wow look at Monicas face light up.

mrswhiplington · 27/11/2019 15:53

Exose works in a restaurant in Manchester where I live. I might have to start saving up to go there so I can catch a glimpse of him.Grin

LaMarschallin · 27/11/2019 16:07

Those cheekbones!

He's a lot easier on the eye than he was on that artichoke. Monica got quite skittish judging his pudding.

Btw, how did he get his choux pastry in that perfect dome shape? I presume a mould but I've only ever piped choux.

PotterHead1985 · 27/11/2019 16:33

@Whatsitlike Oxo!! GrinGrin. I love it!!!

LaMarschallin · 27/11/2019 18:32

Hate to say it but Gregg's not totally disgracing himself on House of Games.

But the evening is yet young...

fourquenelles · 27/11/2019 19:57

Checking in. Sad day - Gary Rhodes, Clive James (although he died on Sunday I believe) and Jonathan Miller.

PotterHead1985 · 27/11/2019 20:01

New telly service. I'm here.

PotterHead1985 · 27/11/2019 20:02

A wimminz

Thisnamechanger · 27/11/2019 20:02

Anyone else sad enough have already looked up the skills test? Nope just me.

GrouchyKiwi · 27/11/2019 20:02

That's so sad about Gary Rhodes. 59 is so young.

Caught the end of the Clive James meets Mary Beard programme and feeling a bit weepy.

ISP managed to do a decent and we now have a tolerable connection while they fix the main issue so I can be here now after all.

PotterHead1985 · 27/11/2019 20:02

Aww they mentioned Gary in the intro. ❤️❤️. Wonder will they put a rip at the end of the programme

ilovesooty · 27/11/2019 20:03

Poached eggs are like snot..

fourquenelles · 27/11/2019 20:04

I caught the end too Grouchy and it made me teary too. Glad you are here btw
