He can't be dead. My guess is it will turn out he had a bullet proof vest on which obviously sounds implausible but the entire 'Martin is a hitman' plot is so ridiculous anything is possible.

I didn't really understand Martin's ultimatum at the end when he said he was keeping hold of the phone until his problem is solved. How can he use a video which apparently shows him shooting someone as a means of blackmailing/forcing Ben to help him

I just think Martin is stupid or the writers didn't properly factor this in. Martin assumes that he must have killed the person he ran over..ok... and he gets over anxious about it... ok understandable. But WHY would you then deliberately kill someone ? Denny- was not surprise at all. He's a little shit that does not respect his mother whatsoever. Maybe when he becomes older and he gets fed up with the Mitchell clan he may start to appreciate his mother.

Is it just me but in the video Ken was facing towards the phone. Martin I'm going to assume definitely shot him because of Ben's face. So he shot him from the front which means he either fell backwards or onto his side. I mean I can't see him falling onto his front... Definitely over thinking it 😂

It’s all too ridiculous. Phil has done more than his fair share of cheating, including cheating on sharon. She’s cheated on him before too. It’s what they do. He should be used to it by now.

I’m a big Eastenders fan but things have gone too far now, having someone shot at point blank range because they had an affair with your wife, and your teenage daughter/sister being an accessory to it all purely because of hurt feelings and wounded pride? With no thought on how this would devastate Karen, the wider family and leaving little Peggy fatherless? I know it’s only entertainment and not real but I actually found it too much for a soap.

It is interesting to read posts saying it went too far. For me it was so far fetched I found it ok to watch in the sane way I watch films where things happen that wouldn’t actually happen. I think I may watch it in a very detached sort of way.

I found the Bex bullying storyline far more traumatic to watch and I really disliked the Stuart/Mick/Linda storyline.

She will have to go into a detox centre won’t she? Wasn’t Shirley a roaring alcoholic before? Surely the Carters have experience of this?

Agree Rowena the bullying storyline was relentless and uncomfortable. This was very dark but strangely entertaining. Although they could have done without the serial killer theme music for Phil walking past, or maybe they should use it all the time now. Louise is horrendous. I think that none of those three trust each other and hopefully that will be the Mitchells downfall. The only decent member of that family is Jay. Denny is an arsehole, I knew he would abandon his mum for Phils money.

Beside that, enjoying the Vicar of Dibbley Slaters Christmas lunch. I think the new landlord is getting the rent raise paid by Daniel, and he told Jean, hence the fairy Godmother comment.

And Lee wins prize for most exhausting Christmas looking after his parents. Did he always wear that much eyeliner? Surprised he hasn’t bumped back into Whit yet.

Anyway, vast improvement on the last few years, Bin-gate, Alfie dying and then annoyingly coming back to life, Max witnessing 2 more of his children plummet from the same pub his son tripped and fell from and still choosing not to move away afterwards.

Poor Sharon, poor Karen.

I spent the episode thinking he won't kill him, and he'd do a Snow White - go back to Ben splattered with blood and present him with a pig's heart! But looking at both Martin and Ben's reactions, I think he is dead.
Unless...Ben told Martin to make it look like he killed him, and got Keanu to escape, and the video evidence Martin is holding onto is to show Phil that Ben betrayed him, if Ben didn't stick to his side of the bargain.
But then why would Martin be so distraught at the end?
